I would like to add to check for window panel sealing material. Of the cars I have checked out here in texas, I think the intense heat during summers have degraded the black material surrounding the windows, and could lead to water damage of electronics in doors and not 100% sound insulation.

Nice video!! I own an '09 E63 /////AMG, and I agree with you. Dont listen to the internet!!! Other than the panoramic sunroof recall, I haven't had any major issues with my car. replacing the front rotors was kind of pricey, but you only do it once. My drive belt broke 2 years ago. Otherwise, this car is a beast!!!

Thanks for chiming in. ‘09 is the best year for w211 since some of the issues have been sorted out already, i.e. updated transmission control unit. I knew about panoramic issues but didn’t know there was a recall for it. That’s really cool.

Awesome video as always ) one more thing, open hood, ask owner to start car and push the gas, while in park of course )) watch if the engine tilts, if it does, the mounts are bad and it may be wearing down some of the attached hoses

Thank you for the suggestion. Actually, even better way of testing the mounts is by putting the transmission in D or R, holding the brake pedal down firmly, and then tapping on the gas moderately. But you must do it yourself with the hood open to see, or trust the owner knows how to do it and won’t run over you 😀

Hi. I bought mine expensive with low miles. If the car is healthy I’d say 9k is a really good deal.

It really depends on what you can and want to spend maintaining a car. ALL older German cars require more maintenance than let's say Toyota. AccentOnCars I’m just worried about the camshafts, I know aftermarket billet ones cost 6-8k alone! But if I changed the oil myself every 5k miles, could I have the engine last 300k miles? And be used as a daily driver?

If the car has been taken care of and not been abused from the beginning then yes, why not? There are people on the mercedes forum reporting high mileage cars with all original parts. Also, if the factory cams fail at high mileage then replace them with oem cams for much cheaper. Oem lifters are affordable too. Why do you need billet? Are you gonna supercharge it? Are you gonna drive it million miles? And lastly majority of time only two intake cams need replacement, not all 4. That’s my opinion. Again, regardless what German car you buy, be ready to spend on maintenance.

Generally Carfax is pretty accurate, however it’s not a full service history of the car. That’s why I recommend extra steps in the video.

I've seen some 80k mile ones go as low as $16k. From what I've seen, most for sale are around 120k miles and are selling for 15-16k.

Could be smth as simple as bad spark plug or ignition coil, or could be smth more serious. Needs to be properly diagnosed before buying.

My sunroof doesn’t work and my radio doesn’t work on my AMG E6.3. Anyone have ideas or issues that you can give me some info on. Should I get an aftermarket radio and keep speakers? And the sunroof is beautiful but does not work. Anyone have ideas, costs etc info you could give me. It’s a beast and a beautiful black on black and in gray condition otherwise. Thanks!

It’s hard to say without diagnostics. It could be anything from mechanical to electrical, even as simple as fuses. You should get it looked at by a knowledgeable independent mechanic. Dealers are expensive. Where are you located?

All are the same engine and transmission wise. 09 has updated head unit. I guess the latest production date you can get, but no mechanical differences between years.
