How might ACT's focus on learning to live with distress instead of thinking we must eliminate it to have a happy life be a great tool for people in the current climate?

Definitely helpful in a pandemic we don't have control of!

I feel so intensely uncomfortable and alone everytime I hear rich and meaningful life, especially in relation to most concepts mentioned. I won't really imagine anything in those terms for the next few years, but it's nice to try to remember it's a concept

I listen to your videos a night for thirty minutes and in the morning. Sometimes I journal when I’m listening. I work as a shuttle driver at a homeless shelter. Sometimes my job is very rewarding and fuflling. Other times I feel overwhelmed. But I know these videos are helping me create coping skills and work towards my own rich and meaningful life. I appreciate your presence on KZbin. Thank you 🤗

Wow, this might be helpful to teach clients. I'm 4 minutes in and this makes so much sense with how perception and relationships to people and reality can go wrong. Trauma can create a schema that provokes intense fear, helplessness, abandonment, opposition, etc that become the template for strategies that solve short term problems, but if they go unchecked become long term issues.

Could you down grade the terminology to the layman’s vocabulary? I love CBT would love to listen but it’s two languages.

Thank you so much for this! It would be really helpful if the slides were larger, and using a smaller video in the corner, this would make it easier to take pictures of the slides for notes / later use

I previously did the small corner thing.... Viewers overwhelmingly wanted my image larger. Channel is doing well, probably sticking with the large format.
