1. Merry Christmas. 2. Sandfleas make a great bait and you can get them all over the beaches. Your other option is fidler crabs or mangrove crabs are available around there.

they're like bass in that sense, more of a sport fish to most people. Bass are good eating though, and I hear the same about snook, so if you catch a legal snook don't be ashamed of giving it a taste lol
