It should be the same on an Ovation. On other brands of sergers, measure the seam allowance when you align the edge of the presser foot with the fabric edge. Thanks for watching !

Thank you for all of your videos! I love them and they have helped me so much! When switching between different coverstitch needle positions, do you need to re-thread?

Hi Lucia, That depends on what model machine you’re using for coverstitching. On Babylock machines, because there is just one tension dial for the chain needles, you don’t have to re-thread. But if you have individual tension dials or buttons for each needle, then yes, re-thread. Let me know if you have more questions and thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips!
