Accused Of Cooking Simple Food - Cheese And Potato Pie Yes We Do - So What?

This has to be one of the simplest meals to create, CHeese And Potato Pie. Its not strictly a pie but that's what it is called.
Here are the ingredients to our Cheese and Potato Pie With Onions and tomatoes.
About 6 medium potatoes,
250 grams of cheddar cheese, we used extra mature,
2 white onions,
Some sliced tomatoes,
Some butter for the mash and some milk.
We pressure cooked our potatoes in our Cosori pressure cooker 5.7 liter amzn.to/3OLxGzK for 7 minutes.

This looks delicious. Don’t know what it is but I’ve tried every setting on my tv and it always seems the lighting is too bright on these videos when trying to see the finished dishes on the top of your worktop. Must just be down to your overhead lighting because everything on the worktop is mega bright and sometimes hard to see the food, especially lighter foods but the food I do see, looks fantastic. Makes me hungry every time! 😊

I'm afraid younger people (our kids' ages) are very guilty of eating out most of the time. Good knows why when they were bought up on home-cooked meals! We learnt lots of frugal cooking skills from our parents, which we in turn ended up using ourselves. Who would ever have believed that Macaroni Cheese would have become so trendy??? That to me is simple food....and they charge a fortune for a measly portion in trendy restaurant!! Still can't get my head around the need for companies like Hello Fresh🤔 What's so wrong with looking up or watching a video for a recipe, buying the ingredients, and making it...for a fraction of the cost?? This would be lovely with Bangers, but as you say, serve as you want. Can't please everyone. But hey, sure if you ask our kids what they'd say was their favourite meal, it'd be something homely and traditional, that their Mums and Nans even used to cook for them! Of truth were told the basic plain complexities are healthier and easy to prepare. I love cooking potatoes in my pressure cookers I only add a cup of water to a 5lb bag cooking 5-6minutes. I cook the full bag mash and use ice cream scoop to portion freeze. Husband loves combination of mashed tur nip and potatoes cooked and mashed together. As there's only two of us now a once a month cook of 5 lb potatoes does us almost a month while a turnip and 5b bag of potatoes again I've cream scooped as portions and flash freeze. Once bagged all you need to us take out as many portions as needed.

This recipe brought back fond memories of when I was a youngster, my mother used to do this for our dinner only she used to use tinned tomatoes on the bottom, then the cheesy mash on top. This is one of my favourite meals, have cooked it for years. I mostly have it with salad but I also like it with baked beans. Great stuff! Still make a similar version I learnt at school in the 70's. We didn't mix the onion in the potato, but fried it separately then added the skinned sliced tomato. We then put half the spud/cheese mixture in the dish, spread the onion/tom mixture over that, then spread the rest of the potato mixture. We topped with grated cheese and sliced tomato...going to have to add onion to the potato, sounds delicious! Thanks 😊
