When? Keith was inducted into the One Pocket Hall of Fame. (January 2018) Not the Billiard/Pool Hall of Fame, which hurts him deeply.

I remember watching this on ESPN back when it aired. At 1:23 when McCready jumped that ball I thought it was over. He’s drinking beer the whole match, so he seemed shit faced by the end of the match. Liquid confidence lol. Hall has always been one of my favorites. Class player all the way.

Buddy's consistensy, Keith's pocketing pace as well as Billy's highly analytical commentation and Jim's surprising ability to get Bill choked (2:20). What a match!

That's some pretty weird cueing technique. The coaches today would have a field day commenting it.

Yeah all they can do is talk about it, but can't beat Keith with it. Can't argue that technique is a champions stroke.

Sidearm Stroke. Keith believes it came from when he played so young, he couldnt reach top of table. So his arm would stick out side, to reach over table. He believes he kept that Side Stroke. Not Weird, Legendary Keith Stroke! -Imagine if Commentators saw someone Drinking Budweiser before a Break or during play, like Keith does here and always!! Keeping it real!!

I saw him there too. He had a table presence and fluidity in his playing that was art form. Too bad he didn't have self discipline when it came to intoxicants. He would probably be in the Hall of Fame otherwise.

One of the most basic rules of playing pool is to stay down while shooting, do not jump up too early and Keith seems to do that a lot. He is a great player so I don't understand why he keeps "jumping up".
@godjhaka73765 ай бұрын
Because he's playing at a speed 10x faster than your brain can comprehend. So he was down, but was moving so much faster than you.

10 times? nah pool is easy sometimes once you can see the layout and can control cue ball. Nine ball makes it a lot easier than eight ball.

These guys were pool hustlers. They only had to play a little better than the other guy. If you think you could beat them then they made their point. I would never "cross cues" with neither of them but particularly with McCready. He is a beast.

The big difference to me in fast players like Earl and Keith is that Earl still utilizes a slow, last backswing. Keith is quick, jabs at it and just doesn't look smooth, especially on pressure shots.
@theshyguitarist8 ай бұрын
As good as Keith was, he definitely wasn’t consistent and he missed a lot of easy shots and often didn’t get good shape on the next shot. Which explains why I was his successful nemesis back in the early 90’s. Also, him being drunk didn’t always work to his advantage either.
