So helpful! We used this last year, and I would write pages out for each day, and it would take a lot of time. I really like this idea a lot! We'll be going back to all ACE next year and I'm trying to get ideas for better organization. I noticed my kids often liked to work a few pages ahead so they could get a day off at the end of the week. The weekly chunks would really help with that, and they could work ahead if they want to. Love this idea!

Great video. I went to an ACE school when I was in 7th grade. The minimum number of pages in the PACES we were to do were 4 pages per subject each day ( unless there was a checkup or self-test, then we had to complete those as a whole), of course, we could do as many as we liked beyond that if we wanted to, too As always, do what works for you in your homeschool, but that's another way you can do it for the upper levels.

I talk to so many parents that don't know how to do this. I do it differently because we school year round but strive to finish in 180 days. If we go over, it's not a big deal because I plan for that possibility. I will definitely share this along w/ Andrea Mills videos on A.C.E. Good job.

Hi! Can you give an inside look and review of the history PACEs for 8th grade and or 11th grade. Some people complain that the student doesn’t learn about history (no “big picture”). They say that it’s all just memorization of names and dates. Thank you and God bless!

Do you find that your students navigate Algebra 1 well? I'm deciding between Paces and Abeka or BJU for Algebra 1. Thanks!

How many paces and pages per day should a student do for each subject?

I usually write the ending of each day in the PACE. Ending each week seems a lot easier, I may give that a try.

Good evening, I started using Ace curriculum last year. My question is, if it is better to keep record myself or enroll with their personal record keeping curriculum? Thank you
@AreTheyAllYours
@AreTheyAllYours 5 жыл бұрын
I keep the records myself, using the record-keeping sheets purchased through ACE. I guess it depends on how strict your state is whether or not it's worth to pay extra to have someone keep more "official" records.

@@AreTheyAllYours So who does the transcripts? I have two daughters at ECU who worked with the SOS homeschool computerized program where all transcripts generated. I now have a little boy very different than girls as far as focus and interest but my only concern or question is how will I have a formal transcript for him when the time comes? Again, thank you for your reply.

Interesting! In IL it's mandatory homeschooling kids go into a class @ public school, private, or Catholic school. Not a whole day but take a math, history, English or even foreign language. If not the kid is written down being delinquent and parents can be in trouble for negligence.
@CDRDDJ

I live in IL and I haven't heard that, it is encouraged that if your child will be enrolling in college they should take high school subjects like the one's required in a public school. The state leaves it up to the parents homeschooling, obviously you want to equip them with the best education at home.

That information doesn’t seem accurate at this time. There is no information about that at all on HSLDA. What is required is: State Illinois law says you must provide course instructions in the following subjects: LA Math Bio / Physical Science Social Science Fine Arts PE / Health You must also instruct in English. You do not have to register your home based private school and it’s not allowed either.

What happens if they fail a test?
@AreTheyAllYours
@AreTheyAllYours 4 жыл бұрын
They are supposed to repeat the book. But that never happens because there are shorter tests throughout the book to check their understanding along the way. If there's a sticky point, we work on it until they 'get' it.
