I miss the AWACS from AC4, it was actually quite realistic and stuck primarily to NATO Brevity, while also giving just enough story and other from his voice. I really miss that. The AWACS every minute roughly giving you an update of Something near you. reliably. I Noticed he would sometimes identify the aircraft by their NATO name for TU-105 or was it 160? bombers. or what not.

This is the first mission where you're actually invading Erusea. This is how we truly experience Mobius as a character, through the music. By this point he has complete confidence in his abilities, so there's no oppressiveness in the track. The last truly triumphant song was Emancipation. From here on out there's no liberation. The objective is simply to force Erusea to stop fighting. There's no bombasticness, or boasting about how much ISAF is kicking Erusea's ass, it's incredibly melancholy, and even a little sad, as Erusea desperately clings on to their last bit of territory. The war is over, and it has been for a long time.

That last fact is illustrated as early as escort... and highlighted for the rest of the game. "It'll be the end of us if they get away." (Get away -> Stonehenge intel -> No stonehenge -> Erusea = Dead.)

​@@juke37024I imagine after Mission 08, and the first couple of missions on the mainland, Erusea's Air Force was on life support. So probably the only thing holding ISAF back was the inability to utilize combined arms tactics. Once that was possible, they didn't even really need Mobius 1.

If I recall, two of the best aircraft for this mission were the F-15E and F-2. Their large capacity of strong air-to-ground special weapons makes it that you have to return to base much sooner. In fact, I'd say with enough skill, the F-15E can be much more effective than the F-15S/MTD despite having less missiles.
