Thank you good sir, your review helped. While it's not available down under at such a good price, it's still a decent chunk of cash cheaper than equivalent Dell/LG monitors that don't have 75hz mode. Also not all monitors have the KVM switch either which is a plus.

I am considering buying this monitor in the UK for about £299 from Currys. It still looks decent.

I was in the same boat as you with the Mac upscaling on 4k monitors and found this Acer UWQHD. It's coming in few days, can't wait. Thanks for the review. For windows manager, try Rectangle if you haven't found one, it's great.

I've been using Rectangle and it's awesome! Good luck with the monitor, it's a real gem.

If only it had an internal power supply. I hate external bricks. But for the current price of $400, and the other features, not bad at all. About to pull the trigger

I ended up doing some pretty clean cable management (with just this one power supply) and have the power brick mounted under my desk. All in all not too bad!

Nice review :) Thanks. I'm on the other side of dev (UX Designer who codes), so Figma will my my primary app along with Slack/Teams.This looks like a great option. Did this have the KVM with it? Refresh issues?

I'll continue to update this comment as I come across any new observations: * I ended up setting the color mode to "Rec.709" and it looked a little less washed out than the sRGB setting. * I misspoke for a moment in the video about the MacBook being from 2016. It is a 2021 model. * I ended up using BetterDisplay app to unlock some HiDPI resolutions. So now I'm using 3440x1440(HiDPI) versus LoDPI. Seems to make text a great deal sharper and less blurry in comparison. Definitely recommend downloading the app here: github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay * While the actual physical bezel is super thin, there is a black border that exists on the active display. This is pretty common on TVs and I had little expectations that the displayed content would truly go edge to edge. * I just realized that there doesn't exist any screen protector that needed to be peeled off. How unsatisfying. * I've noticed the pricing on Amazon has been all over the place. I snagged this at $350, but has since fluctuated above $450, back down to 350, and back up again. I also think on Amazon, you have to click on "other sellers on Amazon" just to see some of the lower prices. Stock seems to be low too. Might be better to shop at places like cdw, b&h, or other sites. But at $450+, I don't know if I'd recommend this against a similarly priced Dell or LG. * I increased the refresh rate to 75hz but I don't remember how I did it. Might have been through the BetterDisplay app. * I'm about 2 months into using this monitor daily and still really liking the monitor. I've been using Rectangle app to manage my windows, with a browser on the left half and VS Code on the right. Works awesome.

I just bought the ED343CUR Vbmiippx which has the same problem with the washed colors, your recommendation to switch it from sRGB to Rec.709 was a game changer.

I've just purchased this monitor as well, and am trying to figure out the KVM switch support. As far as I can tell, you need to have both the USB-C and the USB-B cable plugged in respectively to your two systems, and then need to switch both the video input and the USB input. That's less than ideal.

I wish I could share a little bit more about the kvm switch but I don't have much to test with. How are you liking the monitor otherwise?

@@oholdeno I haven't had time to go through the other features. The OSD is a bit clumsy, and doesn't stay up if you don't make a selection within about 1.5 seconds. While the picture appears good, and looks to be quite tunable, these other issues are a deal breaker for me.

@@kavcak luckily there is an OSD timeout setting! The default is 10 seconds which I found to be very short too. Lmk if that helps!

This has a · Built-in KVM Switch (Power on by monitor) - and I wonder if the USB-C cord has to be special to allow to switch between PC's? I want to get an M2 Mac Mini and put it on the KVM switch with my PC so I can just switch between the two. I also wonder how that can be set up? With a keystroke or how?

Thanks for your review. But why VA was 100% not an option for you? Just curious

I hate VA panels too, they don't look as sharp or clear
@oholdeno

VA panels have poor viewing angles among other issues. They're typically known for gaming whereas IPS is usually for productivity/work.

Hi did you have any issues with this monitor so far? I've just ordered a bigger brother of it - CB382CUR, but now I'm reading some bad reviews general about acer monitors, with hangouts, turning off amd sync and such, and problems with their customer support. How it's going for you with it?

Is this monitor flicker free and tuv low blue light ?

The monitor is marketed with "VisionCare Display". In real world terms, I haven't noticed any flickering or eye strain after a couple of 8-hour work days.
