Why is opening a laptop with one hand even a thing? Since when did this become something people cared about? I remember laptops having latches, They all seem to have gone. I don't want a screen to flop open at the wrong time and I have 2 hands so I don't see the problem.

Honestly with this laptop I made the mistake to try to open it with one hand while I was on a phone call and it being light weight it is, actually lifted the lower half of the chassis and then slipped. I agree with your comment it shouldn’t be a benchmark for any review.

@@unsetname I could open laptops from the early 90's with latches with one hand. There's not a single laptop I haven't been able to open with one hand. Just because it doesn't easily lift with one hand doesn't make it bad, if I had one hand I'd still prefer it to stay closed until I wanted it open. Also they make all sorts of things to help out with disabilities, this has nothing to do with that. By your logic every car sold should have a wheel chair lift. Everyone has different needs, some might prefer a lazy lift of the lid, but it doesn't make it a bad laptop and I doubt anyone would use it as a deciding factor.

thanks for the review. got my Swift 3 for 2 days now. still doing quite a bit of testing. different specs with one in this video (Ryzen 7 5700U, 16gb RAM, 1TB SSD Storage). experienced slightly more computing power compared to my dell latitude 7300 (Intel i7, 16gb RAM, 526gb SSD Storage). compared to the one in this video, i noticed a difference on the hinge. it's held by 2 hinges instead of 1 long hinge and it doesn't do 180deg on a flat surface. indeed very light in weight. battery is not as long, probably 5-6 hours for continuous work, web surfing, and video playback. indoor use, less than 50% of its full brightness capacity. sound via ear piece. power button location needs bit of time to get used to. i made quite a few accidental presses trying to press the delete button. fingerprint scanner is snappy.

Dear all, I purchased Acer laptop Acer swift 3, model SF313-52-53QN on 7th Aug 2020 and with a month time screen of laptop started showing line on it (manufacturing and quality issue). On dated 16/10/2020 submitted laptop in Acer service center with ticket no.- 3713160I. Since then I repeatedly contacting Acer's customer care and mailing to Acer officials but nobody is sharing any concrete date for repair. Delay in repair of laptop has affected my online study since last one month. Brand like Acer should understand for students problem and also focus to improve their after sales service.

Great and informative as always, but according to some other reviewers, the intel version of the same has a better screen (more accurate and 3:2) but somewhat weaker performance, If I need to choose one for illustration and designing, which one would you recommend? I have the intel i7, 16 RAM, 1TB SDD - and it gets super hot when I use Zoom... I only use Powerpoint, a book interactive software... and it gets up to 97 degrees in more than one core mostly when the charger is plugged in and mainly when using Zoom (according to CPUID HWMonitor). Is it normal?

What variant are you referring to? This is a newer variant with the Ryzen series. You couldn’t possibly have had this machine for 15 months. You’d need to find the model # from your machine and comment on that model. Your comment could discourage other users from buying what appears to be otherwise a well reviewed laptop.
