Wow, what a journey! It's been a real privilege listening to this conversation. Kudos to you both for turning your own experiences and adversities into something that benefit others and help them heal. I've said it before and I'll say it again - this channel has far too few viewers. Something needs to be done about that. Aren't there any boarding school survivors who are good at marketing who could help with this? Much love

Thank you @alienspotter422 for your kind words. I am glad that you found the conversation to be helpful. What a great question about marketing. I don't know anyone. I guess it is something that someone could study but I am sure that there are people out there. Thanks for your help, take care, Piers

I've wondered before was it shadow banned as they call it - after all, the boarding school abuse system was the cornerstone of puppets-on-strings recruits to all 'leadership' roles in the country. But it doesn't matter, there's a wave now of healing thats already here ❤

Wow what a brave soul to take on such an intense life! Bless you and thank you both for fulfilling your destiny helping others heal now. May I just say also the english politeness regarding ensuring safeguarding/accountability is perhaps your strength now or a weakness, I'm not sure 😅 Coming from Ireland, what you went through in the boarding schools there sounds exactly like the child abuse in the Catholic Church institutions that turned out to be not by random deranged priests at all, rather specially recruited offenders, organised and protected by covering up cases, relocating and promoting offenders etc. It makes my blood boil that there is not mandatory reporting for you there yet, implying total cooperation with such abuse. Any morally upstanding institution would be horrified and insist on every possible protection of its children- parents beware. Hiding behind the 'too much legal reaction' excuse is also classic coward response from corrupt organisations, e.g. church and the police here covering up crimes on children carried out by high profile figures. Either way- too polite or excellent stamina and strategy and equanimity, you're warriors and I wish you both and all survivors your well deserved peace and happiness ❤

I wonder actually if there are important links between people spreading rumours at school especially boarding school as a form of heavy duty bullying and tabloid journalists and bosses - many of whom have been to boarding school spreading rumours in their dismal "news"papers.

Thank you Richard, I am almost 100% sure that there must be a link there. It would be fascinating to see. Certainly Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson went to boarding school and Jeremy was bullied horrifically. Take care, Piers

Not enough emphasis I think is put on the appalling power of spreading rumours as a form of bullying. it is still bullying even if the rumours are true - but I think most of the time they are a distortion of the truth or a lie. Following the example of an older boy (who ended up being expelled for soiling someone else bed) my contemporaries forced me to strip in front of them. They then spread rumours that I had stripped in front of them at my own initiative. The feeling of powerlessness to do with this is appalling. People end up not caring whether the rumour is true - what they care about and what gives them enormous relief is that you are the weakest link and the weakest link is not them.

Thank you for sharing Richard, I am so sorry to hear what your boarding school contemporaries put you through. Take care, Piers

I would vote for the political party that promises to end boarding at school or at least gradually phases it out by raising the minimum age to board to 13 and then raises the age unless there are special circumstances such as living in an isolated area far from the nearest school. Even the special schools for disabled children were boarding schools. These days, they attend normal schools with assistance from SEN teachers and adjustments in place such as hearing loops. There is also boarding in further education from the age of 16, such as those for teens with disabilities and ones living in isolated areas. Even at that age, I wouldn't have liked to board. It is better to attend a small local school or have private home tutors.

Thank you @lemsip207, what a great vision. I would love to see that in the next election - a party which proposes the abolition of boarding. Take care, Piers

@@pierscross It's never going to happen but I wish it would. Even better I wish it had been banned following the Second World War or earlier as then we wouldn't have been in the mess we are in now.
