The way I rationalize consuming things like rail in science is that the rail in this case is destroyed in the scientific process. Think of Q in the Bond movies, he was sometimes blowing stuff up on rails. Things like that surely wears out rails quickly so they need to be replaced. Same with furnaces. You don't even need to watch movies to see people destroy for example microwave ovens in "scientific" experiments. Everything that is consumed in the different packs can be explained in a similar manner.

Really abusable fact about waterfill: You can walk/drive over a single tile of water if there's land either side. The AI (aka biters), however, can't path over it.

It's AA Programmable Vehicles: There's a map setting slider for how close you can build or they can spawn, which you can reduce all the way to 0.

I love the AAI vehicle RTS concept in factorio, but AAI vehicles lags the game a lot, taking 10-100x the UPS resources of any other mod, and even more than the base game UPS at times.

the kombat drones is a cheaper and faster alternative i feel. because they can be equipped with any small weapons, they deploy relatively fast and can be produced in a 3 tier sistem, light, medium and heavy so i tend to just deploy 4 heavies with rocket launchers 10 mediums with ap ammo rifles and 50 light with pistols or smgs wich makes for an absolute army
