Rimworld's NEW FACTION known as the "Classics" adds new politics, settlements, technology, and scenarios plus topping it off with the "Neron Neolithic" storyteller! Today we explore the mechanics of this mod, accidentally break it (I swear guys, I wasn't even my fault this time). As it turns out, recruiting senators to your side and getting given military grade weaponry by pacifists, is actually pretty good. Enjoy!

It's kind of a compelling setting. What if the bronze age collapse was of a society that was roughly late 20'th century in technology, and occasionally working relics get found in ruins. Maybe the Bronze Age Collapse was caused by a massive infestation of some alien bugs that eventually got brought into equilibrium with the ecosystem by some sorta fungus or something. Ooh what if Egypt was the last sort of holdout and they can manufacture some very expensive crude firearms until they research their preserved equipment.

China already found powder in the middle ages meaning they already could make firearms/muskets and egyptians had a genius who made a machine to have fun with it which was actually small but it was enough to be an engine for transport cars, meaning in ancient times, if people got interested in the tool of that genius, they could have damn CARS (ofc not so developped like ours rn)

you my friend are the first person ive seen so far for a couple years that knows this game. quick question: I got the problem that i cant play the game anymore because when i start it up i get to the point where i should see the main menu, but i see no text or menu buttons and just see normal terrain. I also cannot interact with it in any form aka im literally stuck like that. I have the game as a physical copy (dont know if there even exists a digital version) so the thing is since i cant find a single thing about the game online i dont know if this is a common issue or what it is caused by. tbh it could verry well be my lack of good graphics card but before my pc went from windows 7 to windows 10 it worked perfectly fine (with the same graphics card).

@@Pelasmo It's because of compatibility issues, you can try to use compatibility modes, if it doesn't work you'll have to find an earlier operating system or try to use an emulator.

It's not that you "Don't have access" to anything beyond pre-medieval tech, you just can research it yourself. You can still trade for tech goods, get them as rewards, and I think you can bring Rome forward through the tech tree once you get the final perk for uniting the Empire. You can't pick what you get, but I think the random thing can be any random thing.

I like this mod, other than the fact that it can be a bit too cheesy at times. For example, Visiting a 100% relations locked colony is really fun in the endgame. Ransoming them back to their own faction after capturing them, stealing their gear and harvesting their organs without destroying their base is indeed... classic.
