I'm at the end of several months of telogen effluvium brought on by extreme emotional and mental stress from taking care of my unmedicated 91yo MIL with severe dementia w/severe behavioral disturbance. She is very difficult to deal with. The stress caused me to drop weight, and rapidly, which in turn caused some nutritional deficiencies. It didn't help that many times I was so exhausted by the end of the day that I chose sleep over eating. My blood pressure also dropped very low instead of rising, which would cause me to feel faint and dizzy. My hair is starting to come back but wow. It definitely took a hit.

My aunt is over 70 .She has a lot of hair and always had a lot of hair. I think we shall look at what we eat,because it influence the body.Eating low fat and no this and no that. Just my opinion.Massaging your scalp or comb it several times a day til you feel warm, helps hair not falling out

Excellent information! I am 10 years post menopause and suddenly have hair falling out. I fit your description of Androgen Dominance. I'm a believer in the healing benefits of red light therapy... do you have a laser cap that you would recommend? I'm awaiting hormone test results and have appointments with doctors, but do not want drugs. There is so much information and thousands of tips for what to put on your hair that I'm overwhelmed. I've heard that crushed hibiscus flower + coconut oil paste for 30 min. 1-2 x a week is helpful. Not sure where to start but my diet is excellent... I have cut out refined sugar, flour, gluten, dairy and will only eat clean meat that isn't mass produced. Thank you for any information that you have to share.

I am 47 and in premenopause but my hormone panel came back normal. It was my TSH that came in at .19 low which means overactive thyroid. I had sever hair breakage and dryness, my gorgeous long hair is no more.

I'm sorry to hear about your hair changes; that can be so frustrating. Low TSH could indeed contribute to hair issues. Have you spoken with your doctor about thyroid management options?

@@DrTazMD I see both my primary care and GYN in NOV for follow-ups and also keep my board certified dermatologist in the know. Hello! Thank you for your channel and the information you provide! You covered a lot of different types of issues with androgens, I'm wondering, do any of these help with androgen sensitivity? I belive my hyperandrogenism, which causes thin hair, dermatitis, hursitism, etc, is due to oversensitivity, an abnormal reaction of my body to normal hormonal fluctuations as I usually have normal to low levels of Testosterone. Spironolactone lowerd my Testosterone to a point where I had very low levels and was suffering from various side effects due to it. I am in the journey to find what might help my hormonal sensitivity androgen wise when I found your video. If a topic on this matter might be discussed in any of your future videos, it would be immensely appreciated!!

This is the type of helpful info NHS GPs have ZERO knowledge about. If you go to one all they suggest is to try Minoxidil or to just jump on spironolactone and that's all they got. They are useless, and why I am thankful for KZbinrs like yourself who are willing to share and educate so people can try more natural and holistic methods to see if these work first.

@DrTaz Hello Doc, i motice you didnt speak about scarring alopecia or CCCA. Would you say the itching and burning scalp and subsequent hair loss has anything to do with low estrogen or progesterone? You see, when i got to 41 i started experiencing severe fatigue, a horrible flare up of acne, brian fog, a bigger belly and itching burning scalp and loss most of the hair at my crown. I hwve come to mow believe i 2as experiencing the onset of perimenopause. So I'm asking if you think perimenopause could be the cause of my hair loss and irritaed scalp and what would you recommend I use or take to get my hair back?

I am not sure which type of hair loss I have. It seems like the chemicals in shampoo because I get a lot of hair loss after washing my hair. While wet no hair fall. But as soon as it dries I get hair loss until the next time I wash my hair.

Unfiltered shower water can cause hair loss too; chlorine and other chemicals harm the scalp.

Do your research on the ingredients in the hair products that you are using. Most commercial brands have ingredients that cause hair loss.

@IVvOOvVI Solgar has a liquid vitamin with all you described in the ingredients; magnesium,vitamin D3 and Calcium..as far as K2 it should be taken with Vitamin D3..Perhaps take a K2 supplement separately with it!
@dharma__3Ай бұрын
High blood calcium causes blocked arteries and heart disease. You need Vitamins D3, K2 and Magnesium to make sure the calcium gets into your bones. If you don't, you'll have hypercalcemia. Maybe you should do some research before blindly taking tons of calcium if you care about your health.

I read years ago that drinking spearmint tea is supposed to lower DHT levels. Have you heard about this? Thank you
@angelica0269Ай бұрын
Yes it helps!!! Do your own research 😉 I take Mary’s Ruth Hairgrow multivitamin with a key ingredient called Lustriva and also take a saw palmetto DHT blocker from Advanced Trichologist along with their Omegas 3-6-9 and Seeds probiotic. For stress I take Ashwaghada supplement and magnesium and topically I use Divi scalp treatment at night and three times a week I apply on concern scalp areas a Tretinoin cream (just a touch rubbing the scalp with it) the follow with the Divi scalp treatment and wash the next day. An anti-inflammatory diet is a must so I drink Turmeric/pineapple/ginger homemade juice or tea plus turmeric supplements from Youtheory. Check your vitamin levels as this is important as well. My dr orders this test for me every year.
