What would you if you have HCO3 and pCO2 and you're asked to find the H+ concentration? What I did was use the Hasselbach equation to figure out the pH that way, and then I did 10^(-pH) to get the [H+]. I'm getting slightly confused though, if you have the H+ concentration then how would you make a diagnosis/deficit?

Hi, can you explain how the acid/base changes for aspirin overdose? I know in the early states its respiratory alkalosis and then late will be metabolic acidosis with anion gap, but how would you differentiate which one it will be in a question?

We might release a textbook if we can generate enough interest. It would NOT be all-inclusive (ie, it would NOT be like First Aid). It would contain the HIGHYIELD info from each section, complete with mnemonics, and then at the front of the book there would be a list of the top-100 most commonly tested facts

Thankyou so much for your amazing videos, as always Quick info regarding the first example, we have to calculate compensation whenever we encounter Metabolic acidosis by Winter formula. (1.5 * HCO3 + 8 +-2) . so the example u gave is not compensated . Its Metabolic Acidosis without compensation

If we apply winters formula in first example then value of CO2 should be 23 and here in example is 28 which is above normal so it becomes a mixed disorder, right ?
