I did all the steps and in about 6 minutes a tarantula spawned. (He was running into the wall with his tiger beetle friend) That was the first ever tarantula that I've seen, and I HATE spiders irl. So what do I do? When the tarantula finally notices me after a minute of walking into a wall, I scream and turn off the Switch... I'm severely disappointed in myself right now -_- Edit: Just caught my first ever tarantula! :D

If you are quick enough you could catch them faster. When they start to attack they always hop first, when the hop let go of A and you will catch them before they reach you. Takes some timing to get it right

Yeah. Personally I had a hard time recommending this, because even after some practice, I still failed far too often. It's about a 60 second loss every time you get bitten, AND you lose that tarantula. If you can consistently catch them while they're charging then it speeds up the rate considerably, but I couldn't catch more than like 2 or 3 in a row without getting bitten. I might just suck, though!

Ok so I'm trying this for a 2nd time, so a different island.... And still nothing! Wharf bugs are spawning every 6-10minutes ish, but nothing else. I'm getting dizzy walking around haha. Its 23:20. I might try 1 more island before going to the land of nod. Btw do they spawn when it's snowing?

You're catching tarantula's wrong. You don't have to stop. You just move the analog, stop & go til you get close enough. Don't sneak.

@@kastuu I kept having the butterfly problem. Cleared every thing, had so many butterflies after 12 of them I gave up and went fishing instead. At least I took home some items to sell!

Hey is there a problem with spawning? I cleared my island completely, and followed all your steps, but I’ve been waiting for thirty minutes and absolutely no bugs spawning. Not even wharf roaches or tiger beetles. Time for me is around 9:45 PM.

Hey, so after doing some research, it appears that there is one island type on the island mystery tour that will not allow for any bugs to spawn. It seems like, unfortunately, the first island you went to for your tarantula farm happened to be the ONE type of island that doesn't allow bugs to spawn, haha. If you try again on a different island, it should work. If you get a different island type and STILL aren't able to get bugs/tarantulas, let me know. I'll try to figure out what the cause of the issue is. I'm pretty sure you just got the one unlucky island type, though! Good luck!
