IMO, the "male-nude" scene in Acolyte was done (and the same with Yord shirtless) certainly to relegate men into what the producers see as the "traditional" female role of just being eye-candy... Hmm, I think I agree with Ryan about the bath scene from a meta standpoint (which is a new sentence I never thought I'd say). In the show, however, a show rated TV-14 aimed at young teens, not only is it completely cringe and unnecessary, it's the SECOND TIME we've had "shirtless dude for the sake of shirtless dude". Sith are all about power, emotions and selfishness. The Jedi surrender to the Force, the Sith surrender to themselves. There's a way to write that scene into the story and have it make sense, but the way it was executed in the show was just dumb and pointless. If Osha gave a damn about any of the people Smilo outright murdered, there would be no "Well, I should probably let him talk" plotline. It just goes to demonstrate that shitty executives hire shitty writers that make shitty writing which gives you shitty shows.

On super hero fatigue; "Super hero movie" should never have been a genre. That's one of the issues. For example; You make a buddy cop movie with black widow and hawkeye, and it would be great fun. You make a gritty film noir starring the world's greatest detective (batman) instead of a private dick, and it would be great fun. You make an over-the-top action movie with all of the explosions, tits and real stunts starring the punisher, like they did in the 90's, and it was great fun. You make an R rated satirical comedy spoofing on superhero movies starring deadpool and.., oh wait they did that already and it was great fun. Action, adventure, romance, comedy, horror, erotica, whatever. There's a hero for everyone, and there's multiple genres for each of them. You can't get fatigued by superhero movies if superhero movies are just like "movies in general", spanning all genres, runtimes, budgets, styles etc. But you know, that'd make them money instead of push The Message™so that's not going to happen any time soon.

I've thought about it back and forth and I'd say Ryan is ultimately wrong about the topless scene thing, trying to compare the Acolyte scene to showing Anakin topless in bed for just a few seconds or Luke being topless is a complete false comparison, those 2 instances it was subtle and lowkey, whereas in Acolyte they were so obviously just trying to scream SEX SEX SEX, very un-Star Wars like. The other 2 topless scenes are something you probably wouldn't mind your kid watching, but the scene from Acoylte? Hell nah.

Recently reread one of the Clone Wars Books where Obi-Wan and Bail Organa travel to a Planet in the unknown regions named Zigoola (don't know the english title since I read it in German). It's fascinating how the travel takes its time where they can discuss the current problems and see eachother's perspectives between the Jedi and the Politician when they could have done it in 20 minutes without any impact

Yeah, it's a bit jarring. I don't blame Gary for doing it, but it's starting to feel less and less like the show I fell in love with. There are so many superchats now, and so many are from the same people with the same comments, trying to be funny and comment on every person on the panel. It's just too much. I don't mind AZ leaving, but it is kind of representative of losing the chaotic and free flowing structure that made the show appealing. No intros, sponsored ads, ad reads. The hard time limit, moving to rumble for the final hour, feels very un-FNT.

I don't blame Gary because he is just trying to grow the show and take care of his family; there is no blame to go around because he did nothing wrong. Putting the proverbial bread on the table would motivate many to make the changes Gary has, so if anything I applaud him for that. Doesn't mean everyone is going to like the changes, but those are the inherent risks.

I think what killed theatre’s were 1) COVID in conjunction with streaming 2) tik tok generation. I have talked to many undergraduates due to being a lab technician and most think anything before 2000 is too old of a movie to watch. Meaning they don’t care about movies in general, otherwise they would appreciate good old movies. This generation is dumb and has a short attention span.
