I do feel bad for the Korean actor who learned English to play the role of Sol. He worked really hard and did better than most of the other actors, but this was such a terrible, stupid, offensive project. I hope he gets roles in better ones if he wants them after this experience. The studio’s obsession with getting good reviews and another season of Acolyte seems off to me somehow, like it’s driven by personal issues instead of business concerns or common sense. There have been other widely panned projects under KK’s “leadership,” but this particular pile of garbage is getting the special passion project treatment. This is in addition to the mystery of why so much money was poured into it. There’s something going on there, but I don’t care enough to wonder too hard. For Chris’s sake, I hope there is no announcement of Acolyte S2, because that might mean another video after all.

People will call it propaganda or 'the message' or politics or yada yada .... What it boils down to is that what they (disney/LF/KK/Headland) think is 'good' ... what they think is 'cool' ...their 'taste'.... just f*ckin sucks. They aren't good at the things they claim to be good at. They never were. They've fallen on their face. With Acolyte, they really showed their ass -- it's just naked before the world now. It's personal. That's why it's so off. They've missed the forest AND the trees. They aren't fighting for conventional success anymore (making a sound product people like and pay for). They're trying to prove that they're good and right. They're taking an IP for which they didn't and haven't built a fanbase for ... and are going to war with that fanbase (and the public at large) to say ... "No. the things we like are cool. We are successful ... you just don't know what good is!". It's extraordinarily childish. I mean, no one watched Andor either. But they didn't fight that hard for that show. Why? Because that was a product of Tony Gilroy and the old-pro approach. Also the people that DID watch that show tended to like it. They've never put more of themselves and their world view into anything like they have with Acolyte (other than maybe obi wan) ... and it was a laughingstock (as was Obi Wan).

They wasted 4 years they could have done other projects shooting and re-shooting a big bomb. Now granted, most of their characters are dead, but normally that is a black mark on their careers as an actor. Since, why would you want an actor that won't bring in viewers or worse will lose you viewers. So, having another season would be great for them, even if they are not in it, because it says what they were in was not a bomb. Though to be fair, only Amandla (and Headland) should come out the worse for the Acolyte. Both because of her acting and more importantly that diss track that apparently even Disney told her to take down.

To be fair many actors take wardrobe items that where fitted to them, of made just for that show. Fan fact: Clint Eastwood took the boots (and gun?) from his time on acting in the TV show "Rawhide", but ended up using them in "A Fist Full Of Dollers" as the budget was sooo small they only had one set of clothes for each cast member, so he packed them up every night to keep them safe for the whole shoot. This is taken from the DVD Extras clips of the latest re-masters.

Problem with StarWars and most movies and series today is that generations of the commercialization of art in general have rendered writers, musicians, painters, and everyone who thinks they’re doing something creative entirely incapable of making anything authentic, and are fully doomed to generating ideas based on derivation and the political leanings of their superiors. Nothing that we see on a screen will ever have actual guts and creative substance again for as long we live. It’s just what naturally happens to art when the only motive for its creation is money, and the money people control it.

I'm just done with SW, have been for the past year. All my memorabilia is boxed-up or sitting in my closet, video games off my SSD, etc. Yeah, yeah, the dark side won, it got me I'm the porg. No, seriously, F the franchise, Mark Hamill became a giant [expletive here.] It's not turning back, no one's coming to save it, it's only gonna get worse. No one's gonna buy them out from bankruptcy, since they're funded by a 4th party. All we'll ever see is bs. No more getting angry, just walking away.

If Kathleen Kennedy wants to leave on a high note she's going to pass away before she retires.

@XaqNautilus , Well at least that would be a high note for real SW fans...

They're desperate for a DEI win which is pathetic because nobody wants DEI. This show finally proves it and they're woke brains are melting. Nice try, now go away woke Disney.

They want it to work because it pushes the message. If these movies and shows don’t do well/fail it shows everyone there’s no interest (except their own) in these message.

Velma did 2 seasons, but they played it like they only did 1 and there was SUCH a demand for it that it got season 2. I would be surprised it they have not finished or started season 2 with how hard it is being pushed.

Truly if I’m directing/producing/propmakimg and somebody was to take something from set (given it can’t be returned for refund or I didn’t call Dibbs) I don’t think I could muster up the give a sh1t. What does it matter if they take a few things!

That shit was cringy as hell😵💫 Don't you dare think fans want a season 2 of that crap

Please disney make a season 2! It will be fun to watch you lose your mind as it fails even harder.

The only production I was ever apart of was my 8th grade performance of the Odyssey and I kept Odysseus’s shield 😂 I wasn’t Odysseus but I worked hard making that Hector was mad he had a flimsy cardboard POS like everyone else and didn’t get a cool shield. If I was a producer for any serious fantasy or sci-fi project I’m putting it in the budget that main characters get their own versions of their props and/or costumes. Certainly their main weapon and shoes are reasonable

They posted on the Star Wars FB site to watch the finale five times, and “all episodes now steaming” four. Seemed desperate to me.

So glad Dafne was in Deadpool, so people can forget she was in this. She deserves much better.

We need a season 2! Think of all the KZbin conent it will create! I genuinely had so much fun looking forward to each week to watch people rip this show apart 😂 It was such a piece of 💩

Speaking of steal I'm still curious what happened to that 200 million dollar budget they were supposed to be spending on the series??? It's painfully obvious they didn't use most of it for those 8 episodes. Season one was terrible writing, directing, attacking the fans, and changing the original story cannon tells me there is something else going on.

The actor who kept saying Anakin blew up the Death Star, should stream “A New Hope” in his stolen prop boots.
