My freaking name was "RED!! Getchor Scrawny Ass Over Here!!" Every time, they wanted me, I heard THAT🤣🤣! So, I guess that was my name. I was 5ft 5in and 105 pounds in full uniform and had short red hair. So there ya have it. I was Airman "RED!! Getcho Scrawny Ass Over Here!" It cracked me up. I heard worse, so I was ok with it. That was the 80s and making fun of hair color and figure was typical and acceptable. We had a 6ft 2in girl from NYC they called Sasquatch, so I got off pretty easy.🤣.

When I was a young Midshipman, one of the firsties in my company called me "Mr. Tucker" for like, six months (past the semester break); it wasn't in a nasty way, but he legit thought that was my name (despite the nametag that said different). One day, the company commander hears this and asks, the firstie why he is calling me Tucker, since that's not my name; firstie turns on me and wants to know why I didn't tell him what my name was; the only thing I could think of in the moment was "Sir, this Midshipmen was not required to provide an opinion on his preferred name, sir." In the navy some of the lower ranks are Seaman Recruit, Seaman Apprentice, and Seaman (E1-E3). This lead to some interesting name-rank combinations. Among them were Seaman Drop, Seaman Guzzler, Seamen Sprinkler. Guzzler was a female and got her rate changed to Fireman (E3 as well) out of mercy I can only assume.

Is this racist? Well, who cares. Rarely laughed so hard for over a decade. Thanks, Phukfays!
