This really came just at the right time! I've only just started the quarter pipe a couple of days ago and I'm getting the hang of things slowly. One of my main problems is that I tend to end up jumping up to the top rather than rolling up to the coping of the quarter pipe. I'm not used to the feeling and I still get scared hahaha. I can't wait to try out your tips when I hit the quarter pipe again!! Thanks :)

Dropped in my first quarter pipe today...at 38 years old! Then stayed at the ramp for 3 hours, just repeating the movement. Was absolutely buzzing. Tried get a few stalls on the coping but would always overshoot onto the top. Anyway just gonna keep chipping away at it. Real happy

Dude I wish we skated quarters back in the day. There's so much value from skating them. Like riding a wave! So fun!!! I had to completely change the way I skated when I came back. That was the best part. Getting to relearn something i love to do. Have you tried to connect with the blade fam out there?

@@joshacosta7986 yeah I'm trying to approach my skating differently this time. We haven't had a chance to meet up with anyone yet. I know Lawrence and Long are out here. There have been a couple meet ups but we haven't been able to go. But that's on the list for sure.

@@the.rolling.sloans If you need anything hmu. I'll have D text you my number. I combined my approach to bodybuilding with skating. Get the reps in! Having a good community is so important for skating. I think it was why we all stopped. Well... part of it. Also during the early days everyone was competitive especially me lol but now it's just about individual growth and having fun. While sharing with the community. Lawrence is a good guy he tends to skate more solo. Idk about Long but theres the guacamole crew out there. Or you guys could just move back and we can start a serious skate camp lol

@@joshacosta7986 sounds good man. having kids is mostly what made me stop lol. Yeah I feel the competitive nature of it has changed to a much more positive upbuilding attitude now for sure. Moving back lol 😂 I like it out here too much. The weather stays nice for so much longer and windy days are almost non existent. Maybe one day we will do a road trip to Colorado and just hit up a bunch of skateparks along the way. 🤔 Keep up all the awesome tutorials.

Thanks for your tutorials! They are great and thanks to you I gave switch tricks a go. For me, however, it was much easier to try them on coping rather than on ledges (currently learning to stall all the soul tricks switch on a low coping but on ledges I'm still a bit terrified). It has to do with my dominant foot and shoulder being the left one, so actually doing a switch soul feels more natural rotationwise, while a normal soul feels more natural to lock but more difficult to turn (same with "switch" frontsides). Also not having to jump into the grind helps for me. Maybe something worth mentioning in the next quarter pipe tutorial?

I have some mental barriers to fight before I can take proper advantage of these tutorials. Mostly working on my 180s on ramps until I feel comfortable facing the quarter, and also just riding up and then going down fakie. I'm ridiculously terrified of not knowing what to do, and it's keeping me back... I wish it stopped raining here, even for just a couple of days! It's been more than a month since I last hit the skatepark.

Maybe try leaving slightly back as you go up the quarter, waiting for that perfect moment to lean at the top once your feet lock on. Wear a helmet while learning this, Good luck and get that front side laced!

Depends on your bearings and skill level. My son skates free style and can slide this coping. But on higher obstacles he struggles to make it to the top. You'll be alright depending again on skill level and speed. Once at the top you should have no problem locking in.
