WOW! I absolutely loved your demonstration of both the acoustic and electric violins! It’s the best demonstration I’ve seen on KZbin and trust me, over the past month I’ve done my homework. You are right. The natural violin has a “soul,” and I love it, however, I also like the versatility of the electric Yamaha violin! Beautiful tone on both violins. I think that has more to do with you as an experienced player too! Thank you!

I will always appreciate the acoustic, but I prefer playing the electric because the potential through effects pedals, loopers, etc. is limitless and so darned fun to explore. Also, playing live in any venue is easier because of the control over amplification.

The acoustic violin sounds so much better in this environment but my YEV-104 has been so practical when playing live (for 5 years in Cambodia). Using wireless I just plugged it into an effects unit (not too much reverb, please) then straight into the P.A. So easy! So it certainly has its place.

YEV is a passive instrument. So plugging it directly into a PA will always sound super harsh. You need to have preamp before it goes into speaker for rich warm tone which is how it is intended.

You have a great smooth tone on your acoustic. I have the Fourness Fuse for my electric. I just ordered a KNA VV-3V pickup for my acoustic to replace my 100 year old Fishman pickup. Lol. I have been missing the sound and feel of my acoustic lately.
