thanks for the video. It ended up being the cut relay.

Thanks for your video it really helped tremendously. I just did this yesterday to a 2000 Honda Civic EX. The cotter pin on my clutch was facing the driver side of the clutch pedal. In your video, the cotter pin was facing the passenger side. I could not see the cotter pin on my vehicle and had to work by braille. In other words I had feel the for cotter pin and bend the pins straight with my fingers. Then I had to feel for the small loop on the cotter pin and use the hook tool to remove it and then reinstall it the same way. Every thing else in your video was spot on. Thank you for the video.

Hell yeah bro. This comment made my week. So happy you got the 2000 Civic started. This diagnosis process is applicable to many Honda and Acura models during this time period so it is a general diagnosis guide for a no crank no start.

It was your beloved cat that helped you to fix the car. Did you forget to feed him after he showed you those steps? Everyone nightmare if you are still getting oil leaks, reply with your email if you need.

This didn’t work for my 92 accord. At this point. Been a whole year, ready to junk it 😭😭 just taking up space now.

So sad and you should not give up so quickly. Try spraying flammable carburater cleaner into the air intake and see if it turns over. If it turns over you know you have spark and possible good timing. Then all you have to do is check the other components within the startup chain. Or you could just bring it to me. A 1992 Honda Accord has a similar startup chain. Some of the contents in this video are applicable to earlier generations of Hondas but your 1992 Honda Accord has a different enough architecture.

Thanks for sharing this video, it's helpful! Does it help to remove the fusebox to get to the clutch switch for testing.? I pushed in the clutch switch the other day with my finger and started with turning key and it worked. Although, tried today and it didn't work. I want to unplug the clutch safety switch to see if its any good. Any suggestions on getting it to it.?
@MotionDesignStudio2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely loosen it up so you can get easier access. In the video I remove the fasteners so I can move the box over to the side so I can gain better access to the clutch switch. If you unplug the switch remember you have to bypass with a wire or paperclip to close the circuit tricking the car's computer into believing that clutch pedal is pressed or the car will not start. Is that clear?

@@MotionDesignStudio Found out it wasn't the clutch switch (had no power), but the security kill switch. Just had to reset the alarm.

@@tpswave3452 , thanks for teaching me this. The security device are tricky. Was this aftermarket?
@tpswave34522 жыл бұрын
@@MotionDesignStudio yes, it was the alarm i installed after the oem alarm went out. The alarm still works. There is a relay that is part of the alarm that is between the ignition switch and the starter relay. If it is shut or defective the car won't start.
@MotionDesignStudio2 жыл бұрын
@@tpswave3452 , that makes sense. Follow the electrons and is they can not make it to their destination split the electrical system into 1/2 for diagnosis or start from the last component and work your ways back to the power source.

I have a Automatic So I believe my starter cut relay is bad
@MotionDesignStudio2 жыл бұрын
Nazoneofmyown_el_sp, this was such a pain only to find out the stupid plastic tab at the back of the pedal was the issue. As long as you test both sides of the relay by bypassing like I did then you know for sure that that is the issue. I have a better video on how to test the relay here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4Wnk5ivfMhpmpY Best of luck and happy New Years. Let me know how it goes please. Since yours is an automatic I believe you need to check the switch that lets the car's computer know which gear you are in. That has to be correct for this to start. Also start with all the easiest things first.

Thanks for the vid..was educational ( did not know the other switch was for cruise). That said, I would have just looped the signal wire at the clutch pedal with a paper clip first.. This would have bypassed the switch itself for quick diagnosis. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4K7dH6Pbp2DjtEsi=UD7BBoQ8I6kA3tVc Is what I did on my 97...Hope this helps.
@MotionDesignStudio11 ай бұрын
You are correct that is a quick way to check to see if the switch is functional. After repairing the broken off tab on the clutch pedal used for the cruise control, cruise control works now. I did not have cruise control for over 7 years and never really looked into it. Strange how solving the crank no start provided a solution to a different issue. Thanks for the feedback and have a great week.
