This is knowledge dump of somethings I learned about the different D series transmissions and the parts used to service them.

Is there A000 with shorter gears? Because I bought a gearbox from EG3, aka 75bhp EG Hatch, which definitely doesn’t have enough power for economicly long gears. Apparently the FD Is 4.250. Is there such a thing with short geared A000?

The european Honda Civic EG3 1.3 Carbed has a Final drive of 4.250 and 4.436 its a A000

@@TheHexxal Today I picked up a gearbox from a european civic MB 1.4 with d14z4 engine. It has A000 but has short gears! 4.4 fd 5=0.75 4=0.93 3=1.172 2= 1.782 and 1=3.250 like all of the d series gearboxes. So A000 short gearing does exist in Europe at least..

yes i think anything with a 40mm bearing or B000 is going to be a black speedo gear. If it were anything different than it would just be important to match the speed sensor.

No. Some large bearing cases I have found white speedo gears.

The b000 is stronger and shorter gear. A000 weaker but long gears. Good for gas mileage and highway driving.

D14A8 engines and D14Z4 engine. Possibly also D14A2 engines have this fd. All european civic MB's.

S40 a000 same fork as s40 b000?? I just put a s40 b000 on my y7 but 2nd gear keep popping off and its hard to go on gears

@@lopezcayey 2nd gear pop out is caused by the CSB moving out from the case. Just needs tapped back flush and staked into place.
