The orange hood is 2.5Layer which is why the liner is different - it reduces noise over the 3L

The jacket is absolutely amazing! I have both the J1B-GT in multi Raf Green and the J1B-GT Multi White/Black... imo the J1B- GT is the most amazing jacket of them all!

I bought the Rag Green multi from a store in NY called Antithesis and the Multi White /Black from Grailed. I honestly got very lucky on the price for both.. I was too late to buy when they went on sale on the mother site, they sold out in literally a matter of seconds so I just started saving up money and doing my research on where to buy but every time I would find the jacket online it was either ridiculously priced or the sizing was off.. but I finally found both jackets online for the right price and size and condition so I pulled the trigger.. sorry for the long winded response but I LOVE them both so much! It was just once in a lifetime things that I’ll never do again because of the price and how lucky I got..

@@AggaCityGang yea unfortunately I definitely took a hit purchasing both combined! The B/W from Grailed was the more expensive one but it was one of those financial decisions that I needed to move forward on because the opportunity to own that piece might not ever present itself, but I’m glad I did and I have no regrets whatsoever. The B/W is absolutely badass so it was definitely a MUST have. I try to stay away from Grailed because your wallet can easily get cleaned out if you don’t watch yourself!

I wonder why the Ventile version of J1B uses a stand collar rather than the convertible collar. The convertible version is way cooler IMO, I love the folded down look.
@AggaCityGang
@AggaCityGang 2 жыл бұрын
I agree! Though I think many people also still like the 3D collar. Just the "old look" I think?
@MindfulProgramming
@MindfulProgramming 2 жыл бұрын
@@AggaCityGang that makes sense, I wasn't sure which collar style existed first. It would be interesting to see non-GT releases with the convertible collar, or just using a more "comfy" softshell fabric around the collar. I imagine polartec or dryskin would feel more luxurious around the neck, without drastically altering the overall J1A/B concept.

Hey I know this is an older video but I’m very curious about something. It seems you were very impressed with your acquisition of the J1E partly attributable to its rarity and design. However the J1B was released to everyone and available in white and looks mostly identical. What am I missing?
@AggaCityGang
@AggaCityGang 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Did you watch my J1E video? There is a part where I do a side by side visual comparison with the J1A-GT 2.2. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5O3oqqghNKkj6M I did not make any detailed shots of the J1E at request of the designer. You should be able to see the difference right there, but i can tell you the fit block is the same yes. That's what makes it a J1, all J1's have the same base model. What sets the J1E apart is that most of the features of the jacket were experimentally tweaked: The chest pockets have different type zippers that open the pockets wider (and are white, where the J1B zippers are black), the flak pocket has that same new zipper, and an additional phone pocket inside, also the mezzanine entry is on the left side in stead of the right. The shoulder pocket has a different zipper. The main zipper is a quick free zip, and the neckzipper is an escape zip. The side pockets have an extra mesh catch department inside, and the gravity pockets have non-zipper entries, differnt (assymtrical) versions left and right. The logo tapes are white. The hood is also a bucket hat. The jacket sling is olive. I think that's about it. Did you miss anything? ;)

@@AggaCityGang that video comparison was with the J1a which I thought was never released in white unlike the j1b which I mentioned. The comparison looked pretty much the same with the main thing I noticed being the hat. Aesthetically is a white j1b noticeably different to you compared to the j1e?
@AggaCityGang
@AggaCityGang 2 жыл бұрын
@@theinstigatorr Yes, but apart from the flak pocket and the right shoulder pockets, the J1A-GT 2.2 is exaclty the same as the J1B-GT in construction. I don't really understand why you are asking the same question again. Did you even read my previous answer? Yes, the J1E-GT is noticeably different compared to the white J1B-GT ( read my previous answer for the details on this, I wrote it all out for you). Will a layman see the difference in the two from a distance? No, but if you don't have any eye or appreciation for the details, then Acronym is not really the brand for you I think, because it's all about details. Especially the J1, the first Acronym jacket, which in essence is a 20 year old model that gets revised almost every season. FW2021 saw th J1B-GT, SS21 saw the J1A-GTPL, FW2120 saw the J1W-GTPL, and FW2223 we'll get the J1WTS-GT. Are they all "noticeably different"? That depends on how willing you are to notice ;) They are literally "the same, but different".

I've got a black 1B-GT, got it from one of the online retail shops which collaborated with Acronym during winter autumn/drop. It's my first Acronym jacket ( first waited for new iteration /restock of J1A-GT, but when I saw J1B I thought it looks even more futuristic) and love it! You mentioned that J1B was introduced in Stotz Etaproof - is this material more suitable for warm weather (late spring / early summer) than goretex hardshell? Im asking, because I love my jacket so much that Im also thinking about buying something from Acronym for warm conditions, but I'm still a bit confused by the materials/wariant. Also im still thinking about buing J58-WS as an insulator for my J1B to make it preferable jacket even more under zero temperatures 🤔 Anyway, as always great movie!
@AggaCityGang
@AggaCityGang 3 жыл бұрын
I personally don't have experience with Stotz, but people say its more breathable, because it's cotton, and many wearers in warmer climate seem to prefer it to GTX. Here is some fabric info from SuFu Pant Fabrics CH: schoeller microtwill is cotton and aramid blend (mild fire resistance so as to qualify for protective clothing HS code)-some iterations treated with coldblack UV/heat protection. DS: schoeller dryskin is nylon. S: stotz etaproof is long staple cotton. Fabric Qualities Weather Protection: S>CH>DS Breathability: DS>CH>S. Fabric weight is CH>S>DS. Colorfastness: DS>CH>S. Abrasion resistance: CH/S>DS. Stretch: DS (4 way)>CH (2 way minimal)>S (none). Jacket Fabrics GT: Gore Tex Pro fully nylon construction, 3L microgrid backer, air permeable ePTFE membrane, nylon face fabric. WS: 2.5L fully nylon construction, air/water permeable ePTFE membrane backer, nylon face. S: stotz etaproof is long staple cotton. Fabric Qualities Weather protection: GT>S>WS. Breathability: WS/S>GT. Colorfastness: GT/WS>S. Abrasion resistance: GT>WS>S. Technical Garment Care: Use technical fabric wash. It's water based and doesn't leave residue that affect the fabric characteristics. For jackets: single wash cold, double rinse. For S/CH: single wash gentle cycle, no spin. For DS: single wash cold, double rinse. For GT/WS/S: Everything is DWR'd, this is a coating on the face fabric that allows the water to bead out. With abrasion this comes off, to reactivate wash, reapply, and depending on what DWR, tumble dry or iron. I use Grangers. J58 should be the perfect insulator for a J1 Thanks for watching!

Hey! Looking to get a J1b as my first acrnm piece. Just wondering, how stiff/crinkly are they, and does this affect comfort? I know the recent J1 series models are using Gore Tex Pro “most breathable” but can’t seem to find info on what thickness the face fabrics are. Not keen on GTPL versions either. 🙏🏻 Thanks
@AggaCityGang
@AggaCityGang Жыл бұрын
Hi! It's kind of hard to say "how stfff/crinkly" Gore-Tex Pro is, it's very personal. You might want to go to an outdoor store to check out some GTP jackets from brands like Arc'teryx, if you've never felt GTP before. Or even buy a cheaper GTX jacket, maybe used, and wear it for a while to see how you like that type of fabrc if you are not familiar with it, before you buy a version that costs a $1000. Why are you "not keen" on GTPL? I don't have any Paclite myself, but it's supposedly less "stiff/crinkly" than Pro.
@naota3k
@naota3k Жыл бұрын
I just got mine today, and I'm absolutely loving it with the J58-WS as a liner. It's Gore-Tex Pro, so it's pretty crinkly, but I wouldn't call it "stiff". I expected the neck to feel awkward with how fitting it is and the weight of the material, but honestly it's really comfy (well, at least it will be once I shave, lol). I wouldn't want to wear it without at _least_ a long sleeve on underneath thought, as next-to-skin it's not really ideal - plus your skin will damage it over time. Like Agga said, it's best to try to find a way to sample some IRL and get a feel for it if it's something you're really worried about. I also have a J94-VT (Their new Varsity hardshell) and I find it WAY more "stiff" and crinkly than the J1B is, but it's also not the same material (the J94 is a weird one, not sure about its construction).
