I did it ages ago to make flames on a black background and then sort of forgot about it for a while. Now I love how simple it is.

Hey Deb. I see someone has finally done a technique I have been thinking of. I think its a economical, less paint waste, way to make a beautiful piece. But I do have a suggestion: instead of a straw that puts your head in the shot...try using a length of flexible plastic tubing (available in the fish aquarium section.)
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
I wonder if I would have to blow that much harder for a longer tube?
@margarethdemery4887 жыл бұрын
Hi LR, thanks to your idea, I picked some up and did a non paint test to cut it to a good length 👍

You gave me a way to do a commission piece! I did a flower with alcohol ink on tiles and sold them as coasters. The lady who bought them wants a large piece to match and I've been trying to figure out how I could do that and still keep it freeform. This method should work! So thankyou very much! I'll be experimenting on my own to get something similar to my coaster using your method. ❤️❤️❤️

If you don't mind saying, how do you finish the back of the tiles so they can be hung on the wall?
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
I glue on a sheet of cork to make the back look nice and then I display them on these little wooden easels, like mini art works. amzn.to/2u4ueFI

Hi Debby! That one turned out very nice. This is one of the color combinations I usualy do. The technique with the strawl is good for this small piece but I think not so practical for bigger ones. I would blow my lungs out. LOL Greetings from Germany

That's really is beautiful, when you blow is it the base colour that makes the other coloures move freely, when I try this method my colours are very stiff and difficult to spread?

Hi Deby love this as saw on Suave art too... did you have any Silicone in this paint, the paint looks quite thin too. Well done, I think very creative.

Do you add Floetrol and water to the white as well? Or is it purely white paint? Thanks for sharing this technique!

Yes the white paint was mixed with the floetrol and water, the same as the other paints.
@fayemckenna5587 жыл бұрын
Really nice !How do you hang the tiles? Will the paint stay on the tiles like its wood or canvas or is there prep work for the tiles.Thanks
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
I usually display the tiles on little easels (these ones - amzn.to/2t9alQL) like mini art works rather than hanging them. I've never had any trouble so far with the paint on them, but if someone wanted to use it like a coaster and then put it in the dishwasher, that I wouldn't recommend.

I love this technique and your color choices! My question is do you mix silicone in the paint you keep in squeeze bottles? If so do you add it when you first put it n the bottle? I thought silicone had to be added just before painting.
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't add it, depending on how I plan to use the paints or how soon. Generally I would add a few drops into the bottles. I don't think it has to be added at the last minute because it's oil so it doesn't evaporate. If it were alcohol, then yes that would evaporate off. Alternatively, you could premix a bunch and then add a drop or two into the pour cup instead. Hope that helps.

what is 91% Isopropyl Alcohol used? Is it used WITH the Silicone, or is it a substitute for Silicone?

Some people use it as a substitute for silicone to make cells, but after trying it a lot myself, I really couldn't get it to work consistently for me

When you use a torch, does the flame actually touch the paint?

No not at all, the torch stays a good distance away from the paint and should only gently warm it.

how does this dry fully? mate and cracks or smooth and glossy?
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
There won't be any cracks, but like with most acrylic paints it does dry rather matte. All the shine comes back with a few coats of varnish though.
@harrietleazer38607 жыл бұрын
Is there any kind of medium, silicone etc in the paints?
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the paints are mixed 2 part paint to 1 part floetrol plus water and 1 drop of silicone per color.
@anitageiges7 жыл бұрын
how do you seal these. how do you make the paint thinner
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
To make the paint thinner for this example I just added a few drops more water to my mix. For sealing, I use Polycrylic - I have an article about it and why I love it here - acrylicpouring.com/recommended-protective-finish-paintings/
