Act of kindness helps elderly man honor late wife

Bud Caldwell brings daisies to his wife's memorial bench as often as he can. But his ritual was obstructed when snow covered the path he took to the bench. That's when complete strangers stepped in to help clear the way for Caldwell. Steve Hartman reports.

Everyday I go to the tree we placed our youngest daughters ashes under. Everyday I sing to her the bedtime song I made for her when she was a baby. We lost her last year at only 26. No words! Toughest part of life is saying goodbye to the ones you love. God bless this man and may he one day be reunited with his wife.

July 10th 2021 will mark 10 years that I've been taking care of my disabled grandfather, on that day 2011 my grandmother passed...So, I hopped in the car and went 600 miles from Denver to his house in rural kansas, and that's where I sit writing this today still takin care of him. Let me tell you, I have no doubt in my mind that that simple act of shoveling - to show this man that other people SEE him and more important, see her - every day forward for the rest of his life he will not see the world the same.
