Emailing is the way nowdays, but everybody does it. If you email a casting director who already knows you or to whom you are referred, that's one thing. If you fire off an email to a casting director or agency who doesn't know who you are, then there's a good chance they won't even open it. That's why today, I still like the traditional mailing process. If done correctly and by that I mean, targeted to the right people, written in the right way, with the right frequency...

@Sunstarrock what about emailing? The agencies I want to submit to want you to email your headshot and resume.

It takes me a good half hour in the Home-Study Course to show you what you need to know about cover letters. What I can tell you quickly is that you need to be short, sweet and to the point. If you are looking for free information, actingcareerstartupdotcom has the information you need.

...with the right information on it and integrated properly with OTHER ways to get that casting director's attention, then you have yourself a viable way of really getting noticed. It must be done properly though or it won't work. In the Acting Career Quick Start Home-Study Course, we go into great detail about the mailing process and how to do it properly.
