Active Autowerke EQUAL LENGTH MIDPIPE Paired Up With AWE Switchpath Exhaust - F80 M3 Exhaust Setup

Active Autowerke released their new Equal Length Mid pipe and the hype is real. I have been on the Pursuit for the BEST SOUNDING EXHAUST for my BMW F80 M3. One of best aspects about this equal length mid pipe is that there are so many different exhaust combinations available. In this video, I show you the pairing of AWE Switchpath along with Active Autowerke equal length mid pipe.
You'll be able to see the difficulties of what it took to pair these two together. The first installation was a complete fail. I was reminded that the AWE Switchpath was a 3 inch pipe and there was also a 6 to 7 inch gap between the two parts. As of a few days ago, there was no direct fitment but I was able to meet with the team at Active Autowerke to find a solution. The team worked hard to develop a solution and came up with a custom connector pipe that will now be available for AWE Exhaust owners. I want to thank the staff at Active Autoweke for making this happen! I'll let you guys decide on how you feel about this combination.
Keep in mind the connector is entirely new, if you don't see it on the website then give them a call and they'll get you set up.

Guys I love the sound of your equal length mid pipe!! I have a F80 M3 Comp and I want to get a autowerks mid pipe but I have heard some where it still has the burbles, cracks and pops when the valves are open! Is that because they are the Comp exhausts?? Please tell me how to get rid of the awful burble when you take your foot off the accelerator? Yours sounds awesome! Please tell me if the active autowerks equal length mid pipes with the burble are just because they are added to a Comp exhaust. I want to buy one, but don’t want any burble. Your help would be much appreciated!

Big improvement on sound as I've never been a fan of how modern turbo cars seem to have that rasp at higher revs. I seem to hear more of that classic BMW N/A I6 sound but with the turbo flutter.

I agree Alex! The only experience with downpipes that I can honestly mention about is Euromotive Performance FLEX Catless Downpipes. Miguel has them on his M3cs and he loves it.

Does equal length midpipe effect performance over let's say a aftermarket mide pipe that's not equal length wouldn't it effect its performance by having all then bends?

When compared to AWE Switchpath's midpipe, you will loose extremely small amount since the AWE is a full 3" pipe. The Active Autowerke Equal Length Midpipe will increase the spool, when compared to the stock system. But its all worth it since it makes the car sound SOOO much better.

I have just installed the EL midpipe on my AWE switchpath. My set up is basically the same as yours but mine has a catless DP. There is an extremely loud raspy sound around 1800-2200rpm and it’s unbearable. I’m gonna put the stock DP back in and hope for the best.

Good to know. I have the stock downpipe now and its perfectly fine. They recommended me to get a resonated Downpipe when I do upgrade from my stock downpipe.

Hey Vincent, the Active Autowerke Equal length midpipe will def. get rid of 95% of that horrbile ton rasp. It also depends on what exhaust you will be pairing it up with. It would absolutely be insanely loud. Might have Drone inside the cabin. From Active Autowerke's perspective, they wouldn't recommend it but everyone has their own taste.

It truly depends on you threshold for the possibility of drone or how loud you want. I havent heard the AR design resonated catless dp yet. But I was told a resonated catless dp with non res. EL midpipe is a good setup.

@@kevv62017 that all depends if you have the Gen 1 or the Gen 2. The Gen 1 you're able to pair it up with a special connector pipe. The Gen 2 no longer fits since awe change their configuration.
