Its not a question of talent. They absolutely have the facilities to create the best and most beautiful faithful recreation of mw2 multiplayer. Unfortunately the issue comes from monetization and money in general. MW2 might possibly (obviously cant say this for sure) start to lose some of its charm if it was as heavily monetized as current call of duty. There's also the issue that nostalgia sells their current games. Their goal is the scratch that itch of older CoD games without fully RELIEVING US of that itch, that itch keeps a lot of people playing call of duty games. It would without a doubt hurt the future sales of call of duty because this is the call of duty their core audience wants. The new call of duty games minus maybe the vanilla mw2019 release are quite hollow, borderline creatively bankrupt, money grabs. They would not be able to bring back a lot of those people who have access to a faithful genuine MW2 remastered being back. That's years of 70 dollar initial releases plus season pass and the skins you buy during every release along the way. Even if they manage a way to monetize MW2 remastered it obviously will not be able to match that. What im saying is, and I know this sounds silly, MW2 remastered multiplayer would, in a way, chain Activision to it due to them really not being able to creatively match what they were able to do with MW2. Not only gameplay wise, but artistically as well.

People have been buying and playing Doom since 1993. A few years after it's release, they gave the code for free just so people could make mods really easy. Nowdays people are still making more and more mods for Doom, people are still playing, people are still buying a 30 year old game just to play mods (and the game itself still one of the best fps ever)... What i mean is Doom was made by gamers for gamers, people with a lot of love and passion for the industry. And they allowed people with the same spirit to use their creation to make so many new experiences... You will never see Activision, Ubisoft, EA and all those moneywhores doing that. They are not in this for the love of the industry, but for money. Fun part is you can still make a lot of money and give the people what they want, it's so fn sad.

I haven't spent £1 on COD since getting shafted by COD:Ghosts (2013). With every release that comes out it just proves to me that it was the correct decision. The reason they'll never Remaster Mw2 is because it would negatively effect the sales of their newer (worse) COD games...they won't allow us the good ol days because it'll hurt their bottom line. Some of us learnt way back in the OG MW2 era that Activision see gamers not as an investor community but as revenue streams without brains or feelings. The hate that used to be levelled at FourZeroTwo as he squirmed and tried to sell his board masters’ evil decisions, I remember well from being a teenager. It really looks like a completely different gane when you look at the old cods versus all of the newer ones. They need to scrap this awful engine that clearly all of the newer cods seem to use. They're also not different games like they used to be. Old school modern warfare and black ops games had their own distinct, awesome, immersive feel. Now they just all feel the same. Its also dull.
