I think World At War is absolutely S tier for sure. The campaign is quite memorable, legendary characters and story telling. It felt like every battle you participated in was just an onslaught of enemies and resistance. Real life soldiers, marines, sailors, civilians died fighting for every inch of ground to stop true, unrelenting evil. And I felt that in this game. Of course, this is my opinion.

@@TwinbornMist Same, I don’t think it was so much outright bad, but it was instead more so forgettable and run of the mill. It’s probably the most “face in the crowd” game in the series. It’s a mishmash of tropes from the MW trilogy and BO1-2, and it never got a sequel or anything so it has no legacy other than its own game. It was a decent game released at the wrong time. It came at a time when Call of Duty was beginning to fatigue, and also was the first next gen game so people expected a lot from it. So when it came out after all the hype and was just business as usual but less iconic and still felt like a 360 game, it disappointed people.

@@CptPrice-qr6ng that’s subjective, I had tens of hours of fun between all the maps, yeah the first map got boring but with all the other maps it was a nice variety, each match had different hive spawn locations with a variety of enemy spawns and supply box spawns, which made each match harder or easier and the teeth mechanic they added gave me something to work towards which I liked. It’s kinda like saying zombies gets boring after 5 minutes cause it’s the same every time, you get in and survive, but each match has different variables which made each one feel different from the other and made it enjoyable, just this one has a goal so it’s seen as more tedious.

I think Ghosts could’ve been well written, the idea of a badass group of mercs who survived by hiding among the dead is great to say the least, the forums I feel give a lot more lore and backstory then the actual game does, and the dog thing was really cool as well, especially when it was necessary for certain scenarios, and the skull masks are super symbolic and badass.

But they clearly just added those specific situations where the dog would help so they could justify having the dog at all. It would be a lot more fun if the dog was available to control, like you did in that one mission, in all missions, and you could attack each mission and situation differently, whether you went at it with the dog more stealthily or went loud with the main character. I think the Ghost story goes much deeper than the other cod’s. It has a villain who has legitimate motives for why he does the things he’s doing. Also it was action packed, and it nots like totally military like it’s almost like a resistance story. It’s different and I think it was great

I grew up on Finest Hour, Big Red One, and CoD3, so I'd have them all in B tier for nostalgia. I'm curious as to why 3 is so low. I thought the campaign was pretty good, introducing some new mechanics with drive able jeeps, hand to hand fights, throw back grenades, plus giving us multiple factions to play as. The Americans were pretty by the book, British linking up with French Resistance was cool, and getting to play as Canadians and Poles was a breath of fresh air.

COD 3 was definitely a solid attempt to tell a for the most part, forgotten chapter in the Second World War. The Battle of Normandy was more than just D-Day. The days following June 6 were an absolute slog, fighting in Norman hedges (which are not the same as an English hedge) and urban warfare, culminating in the Battle for the Falaise pocket. The fighting on the Western Front in the Summer of 1944 was just as brutal as that on the Eastern Front. Hell, casualties on both sides were the same as those in the Battle of Stalingrad. Historical context aside, COD 3 was really bogged down by its rushed release, making it unfinished which really sucks.

BO2 has the privilege of having the most balanced and polished multiplayer by far, along with some great multiplayer options added in and much better botcode over BO1 with a pretty solid lineup of maps to support it all and a decent Theater mode. But... Anything else about it is rather questionable. Zombies was meh compared to BO1's absolute standout version of zombies (actually, to this day, I think BO1 zombies is only version of it worth playing), and I remember playing the campaign for a few hours and it just never grabbed me the way BO1's campaign did. And finally, though the MP was polished to a shine, it seemed to lose a lot of BO1's personality in the process.

Not to mention they are easy as hell, you can sit in 1 spot on buried and get to the 60s until the paralyzer doesn’t do damage. The staffs are op and it makes it too easy. Motd you can train in acid trap room and it is easy with acid gat. They aren’t challenging which makes it less fun.

Yeah, MW19 could have had it all, SBMM kinda hammered it, and the huge maps did. Mosh pit playlists were so fun, because all of the unnecessary spots of the maps were sort of cut out. Singleplayer is great, Multiplayer is good but flawed, and spec ops brings the game dooown. Except for survival. I love survival.
