Hi there..... I also came to the LORD in that year and have been going through the word with CCO. The churches around me are shockingly unbiblical and it is such a blessing to have online teaching since there is nothing coming from the pulpit here in East Anglia UK I attend a local bible study group to fellowship with Christians but I don't attend their church . I left the Pentecostal church and have been wrestling with if the Holy Spirit is "active" today. This message has very powerfully opened my understanding of regeneration vs. empowerment. Wow. I will certainly seek God for further understanding regarding this. 😊

Excellent message but a question....Was Apollos teaching in the flesh before meeting Pricilla and Aquilla? Did that count for nothing? I'm basing this question on what was said at 38:45 mark. That seems to be a contradiction to earlier saying that people were saved through his teaching.

No, you're drawing conclusions where they were never intended. Just because Apollos knew little or nothing of the role of the Holy Spirit in empowering the believer does NOT mean he was operating in the flesh. Someone can be operating in the Spirit and not even be completely aware of it.

I would say it like this; the Jews were zealous for God before the new covenant. For example, Moses, David, Jeremiah all were before the new covenant and are our brethren. I would consider Apollos a brother as well. Then someone who knew more about the new covenant revealed it to him and he received it. A lot of the early Jews didn’t receive the new covenant and persecuted the brethren. Paul had to appeal to Caesar because of the Jews who didn’t receive that Jesus indeed was Christ and the law was done away with. Romans chapters 9 and 10 cover this
