A300 Ultima Patrol is American just like the 940 Pro. The former was made in Tennessee and the later is made in Texas. But yes the 940 Pro has superior features objectively, no comparison. I just wish there was someone comparing the two shotguns scientifically. Rate of fire, maintenance comparison, trigger pull weight, trigger break angle, trigger reset/overtravel length, muzzle rise/recoil comparison, etc.

I personally wouldn’t run birdshot or any light recoiling ammo. A lot of people like to do that but I think the recoil mitigation of semiautomatic gas operated shotguns negate that; that would be better for pumps in which the recoil goes straight back into the shoulder.

asfar as the magazine tube not fitting the proper capacity of shells, I think the Barrel clamp perhaps may be too tight and is pressing on the tube, that was an issue on my 940, so I put on blue locktite and adjusted the tightness to be snug but not giga tight to where it presses on the mag tube. Im still somewhat new with semi auto shotties, but in my experience, there are break in periods of around 200 rounds until things really start to smooth out and become much more fluid and consistent with the majority of ammunition loads and such as far as regular cycling and such. I don't know how many rounds you have but into it but yeah, to me from an outsiders perspective, that's what I think may be the issue with some of the ammo cycling. as always tho, top tier content dude, mad props for sharing.

Picked-up a 940 Thunder Ranch, last week! When I got'r home, I could only get 6 intha tube. Removed/replaced extension tube, then I could only get 4! Abit of research revealed the diff betwixt roll-crimped n star/fold-crimped shotshells, which I'd failed to consider, and, as I'd been usin Rio 2 3/4" buckshot, this turned out to be my issue, as they're approx 1/4" longer than my star-crimped shotshells. The extension tube spring's also very particular about how it likes to go intha tube, and, once I removed/replaced tube again, payin VERY close attention, to how I fed tha spring in, I was able to get all 7 in there. Really thought I'd done my homework on this 1, but I'm only now seein all tha probs ppl'r havin w/940's, and learnin of crappy customer service from Mossberg, with no shipping costs covered, and guns bein returned in same condition (Or WORSE!), with Mossberg claimin they're fixed. I think these rifles are just slammed together fast from the factory and need some TLC to break in the parts. I think the A300 has a single action bar whereas the 940 has twin action bars. Not sure what impact that would have on the rigidity or if it would have a serious impact on weight but that's just one of differences between the two. I love my 590A1 so the 940 is on my short list but the A300 Patrol is getting great reviews as well. If I had the money, I'd get the 1301 but those are getting more popular it seems and the price is reflecting that.
