It's very weird to me that half of the "mainstream media" articles she cites are like Jezebel, Media Matters, etc. Either clearly left wing media outlets or just opinion pieces/film reviews. And none of them are saying, don't watch the movie. They're just giving the film a negative review. Meanwhile Fox News, which is a pretty large/"mainstream" outlet, has consistently praised this movie, talked about how awesome it is, how it's beating out all these other films at the box office. And like you said, those are inflated numbers from people simply paying to make the movie look more successful than it is. Its not the movie. The movie is not groundbreaking, but its a solid action thriller. Its that the movie is made by and for people that thought Tom Hanks and the DNC drink kiddies blood and stay magically young. And the same people cheering for the rescue of these Honduran children are just fine with throwing them into the Rio Grande to drown, having them caught in Barbed wire or trafficking them themselves to who knows where. The cognitive dissonance is just too much. So there's that.

Tim Ballard hired a psychic to who claimed they knew the location of a child who had been missing. Tim Ballard picked up a film crew and contacted the child's father and told him to come to this village with them (this is in the movie) and he would go and get his child back. They got to the village. There was of course, no child there, however the village were not big fans of a film crew accusing them of trafficking a child and so the village, with the help of the father, chased Tim Ballard and his film crew the fuck out of the town (context of this event was changed in the film to make tim look like a hero) Tim Ballard's organization is also under investigation for Child Exploitation and possible ties to Child Trafficking themselves QAnon Anonymous did a whole episode on Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad. Spoiler Alert: They're grifters and they ultimately help the human trafficking industry
