You know, I am by no means a chef. My parents and my public schooling made sure I was at least competent at best in the kitchen. But some of the things that Dave does, like cooking pre-cooked shrimp for an additional 10-15 minutes, makes me cringe just as much as Jake. It is just common sense. Has Dave never eaten anything?

I know the best thing about pre-cooked shrimp is you just have a nice compound butter you put it in a hot pan, add the shrimp, heat through and you are done. There you have a somewhat upscale meal in under 5 minutes. Is it the best ever? Not by a long shot... but it is shrimp and made in 5 minutes so who cares. The shrimp are *already cooked* just get it hot.

Here’s the thing, seeing Jake’s reaction to this is actually teaching me a bunch about cooking I never learned. I at first felt bad but then realized, I 1. Still was cooking better than Dave and 2. Never made a cooking show or claimed to be a better cook than professional chefs like Dave did. Good god I am so pleased to use less oil, salt, and cheese overall. Just a simmer of spices alone multiples the flavor.
