Stupid idea: Tourist precent. Start with a completed save file. You have to enter every kingdom, and whenever you enter you have to open the map and read the text on the side that describes the kingdom. In addition to reading it, you then have to go take a photo in front of every notable feature mentioned in the description.

So, I have a concept for that: the game doesn’t consider you on the ground if you frame perfectly jump right after landing. So theoretically, you could beat the game with only the times that Mario is on the ground in a cutscene

@@MysticalOriginz The way i was thinking makes things easier so you don't have to stop and start the timer every time you jump or jump wrong. Basically if you touch the ground, you are counted as on the ground until you stand on top of something that's not the ground. If that makes sense. That way you have to think about where you jump and you aren't just jumping repeatedly the whole time. Makes things more challenge so people have to think of what paths would result in the least amount of ground time.

I think you're allowed to crouch because it's one of the Controls alongside Run, Jump, and Cap Throw. I don't know if there's a definitive list of the things cappy can or can't say, but everything I remember is in the "Basic Actions" tab of the Action Guide. This includes Jaxi, dashing while 2D, and _crouching to enter a pipe_ , even though I'm pretty sure the game literally tells you to push the crouch button when you're standing on one. idk if it's a thing cappy says though.

New run category: I'm a newbie% Never call characters and objects by their name. Stuff you can't say: Mario, Cappy, any NPC's, Moon, Coins, Enemies, and Kingdoms. Anything else is fine. You have 3 lives. If you say one of the things listed, you lose a life. Lose all three and you stop the run. Your goal is the most time btw.

Broken Legs%. During every kingdom, before you go on to the next one, you must make Mario go into the stun animation that happens when you fall from a high place without doing other actions to slow your fall. Completion of the run happens by beating Bowser in Moon kingdom and escaping out of the cave.

Pro tip: if you crouch, go in circles (like the "vertical spin" that emits the efects of the "spin flower... thing") and then uncrouch, then you'll go to the "vertical spin" without moving of the place

Honestly the unlockable skills run sounds kinda awesome. Like "Unlock all skills via Travel Tips, and beat the game". So whichever happens first works. Maybe even have a rule that you can only swap kingdoms after "x" amount of moons collected, so the main strategy isn't always "Beat game as fast as possible, hoping for skill RNG, then swap kingdoms really fast"

I was thinking you could do the pushup run but start the moon count at 0 for every kingdom. So you’d have to do 6 for ruined 15 for cascade 36 for lake, bowser’s 55 for lost, snow, seaside 136 for sand, wooded 171 for luncheon 210 for metro A grand total of 911 pushups

Banned Moons%: any% but you're not allowed to take any optional moons taken in the normal any% route. If you make a mistake, just get an extra moon over what the Odessey requires. (I did not check if this run is actually possible.)

I have had this idea and checked, and it seems every kingdom has at least twice as many moons available on first visit as are required to progress. However, required story moons are a problem. There aren't many that you absolutely have to get, but there are still some...... so we can either make you do extra moons for each one or be lenient and let them count towards the goal Edit: to future-proof against changing strategies, it can also be set such that each run can't use moons used by the current first place any% speedrunner at time of run. That way you'd have to change future runs if the original route changes, but your run isn't invalidated immediately

Idea clip percent in every kingdom that you travel to you have to do a clip it can be any clip but trick jumps do not count so in snow kingdom if you do a trick jump to get up to the painting that does not count as a clip you would need to do the Moon clip to get down to the rango room etc
