Great work, very professional. You can always tell how skilled an individual is at their craft by how easy they make it look. Nice video work as well. I think am going to tackle this after watching your video, don't anticipate it going as smoothly, curse word or two in there, by any chance could you tell me torque specs, the pully, the bolts to the pump, thanks and great job

Thanks! Recommend doing this type of work with a repair manual with torque specs for reference.

There’s an oring on the low pressure side if I remember correctly that Honda/Acura discontinued bc it was defective and there’s a new one to replace it. I’ve had that done and so far so good besides being somewhat dirty from the power steering leaking out through the previous defective ring.

I purchased the same belt from Acura using the VIN number, 56992-RWC-A01. On the belt, Bando 7PK1732 and it does not fit my 2010 Acura RDX AWD. The new serpentine belt is shorter than the belt the on the engine. Am I missing something? Thank you.
@hardlymovingpro6 ай бұрын
Could be you have a belt tensioner problem. You have to apply continuous high torque on the tensioner pivot bolt to get it to completely compress. You may need to get another pair of hands to help you position the belt while keeping tension on the tensioner. Again, the belt tensioner is a real bear to compress.

Thank you for the video, very helpful. Do you know the torque spec for the pulley nut?

Don't have torque specs but is available in a Haynes repair guide.

@@hardlymovingpro Have you found a Haynes manual for this vehicle? I can't find any repair/service guide for the 1st gen RDX.

Yes, the Acura shop manual lists the pulley nut torque at 64 N-m (47 lbf.ft)

Thank you for the video. I'm having to (overhaul the original) replace my pump. Your video takes all the guess work out of the process. I need a pulley wheel holder though to get this done. Just out of curiosity, why didn't you rebuild the original OEM pump instead of installing an aftermarket one? The rebuild is very simple, just about a dozen o-rings and one main seal is all it takes which cost me $40 from Acura directly.
@hardlymovingpro2 жыл бұрын
If you have the time and patience to take it apart and put it back together again, the more power to you. But in my case, don't have to time to fiddle around ... too busy.

OK, so I went ahead and replaced all the o-rings and the seal on the drive shaft. Should've bought a new pump (ha! you said it man). I was patting myself on the back after I finished the rebuild cuz it looked really good and everything was tip top and tight. After I reinstalled it and buttoned everything up, I turned the wheel a few times after filling the reservoir and then started the engine and nothings happened. No pump action. Does the pump need to be primed?

Good video, so when should we replace the power steering pump? Thanks
@hardlymovingpro3 жыл бұрын
When it leaks or becomes noisy.
@TheWwong3 жыл бұрын
Flushing out and replacing the power steering fluid helps to keep the power steering pump and rack and pinion live longer.
