I love this! I love it because I enjoy listening to Melissa sing. Doesn’t matter how heavy or how “poppy” she may sound, she just has a gorgeous voice. Her Husavik duet with Fabienne Erni is absolutely incredible. Everything she sings is amazing, and it doesn’t matter which genre the song finds itself in.

Was a bit unsure at first on this one, but now really like the contrast in the song. And wow........really impactful live when I saw them recently. Yep......hooked again 😂

I've noticed a recent similarity with their song construction now with Electric Callboy who have a winning formula of catchy EDM/pop hooks/choruses and periodic heavy growls/guitars. I love the formula and have zero probs with it. I love this for Ad Infinitum and love that she's unafraid to do what she feels like doing, as I believe she was a fan of pop divas growing up. I mean we all love 90s dance and electronica, 80s synth and catchy melodies, even if some pretentious people aare afraid to admit it.

I’ve had this on repeat. It’s really sad to see people in the comments here hating on it for not being heavy enough. Grow up.

Glad you like it. Ive been a fan of A.I. from the 1st album. I dont like this song personally because i prefer metal. MANY different types of metal. I don't need to "grow up" simply because im saying my personal tastes. Additionally......therre are types of metal that i dont enjoy (death. black, etc.) because they are too extremely heavy for my tastes. i don't tell those fans to "grow up". Every has their likes and dislikes. It wont always be what YOU like. Chill out

Agreed, some metalheads are pretentious wankers, the kind that demand growls throughout every song and complain that it wasn't growl heavy enough. They're SOOO above the normie pop culture and are simply better than mainstream pop music lovers. Lemmy from Motorhead was a big Abba fan. It's OK to like melodic, poppy or EDM elements in metal music, you're not going to lose your metal membership lol.

it's absolutely different but i like it a lot too. i think that it's good that they try out different things. there's many bands, really great at one thing and do it over and over again. and there's nothing wrong with that like you know each song on the album will be great and it is, but you also forget about them cause they all sound the same. i think that it's way more exciting/memorable to hear an album, where each song is a surprise. (note that AI always tred different things, just that this one is very very different). and i think that some of the best songs ever were the result of mixing different genres. personally my fav are power metal, poppunk, rock and simphonic metal, but sometimes i also listen to country, epic/ instrumental music, pop, electronic and more. and most of my fav bands combine those quite often

That is a tough one... I don't mind bringing in other elements into a good Metal song. But this a Pop Song, with a bit of "Radio Rock" in the backround and a few sprinkles of Metal thrown in for a couple of seconds. To me, completely devoid of passion, energy and emotion. Super generic. And the coordinated dance moves are just the nail in the coffin. My goddaughter's (6) favorite song is Melissa singing Twighlight of the Thunder God (as well as the Spongebob theme). Very old video now, but it impressed and inspired her immediately. She got up and jumped around to it. With this one, it was roughly 30 seconds before she was asking if she could play something on my cell phone. And I pretty much felt the same way.

For me, its about stepping outside outside the box. Granted its further outside the box than usual. And I'd agree its more mainstream than metal. But why shouldn't a metal artist do a song in a different genre with metal influences? I mean a recent example of that is the Falling In Reverse collab with Jellyroll (though this definitely isn't country). Know what? I'd love to see harsh vocals in a mainstream song, and getting mainstream attention. Its going to get nonmetal people curious about matal. And thats a good thing for me. Point is, it doesn't have to be metal, it doesn't even have to be metal influenced ( though I prefer that). It WOULD play well at Eurovision, and thats not a dig. It might make Eurovision worth watching. And they're not alone. Will Ramos has been known to do completely nonmetal. Way I see it, forget genre. Start out thinking whether its good music, then if you must, assign a genre after. I like it when bands experiment. Great reaction!

Metal needs more variety and experimentation. It's a dying genre (at least in the US) and we need more variety that can attract more fans to keep the genre alive. I can't even find a rock station anymore that plays new music, let alone a metal station that does.

Rock as a whole has been in crisis since the 90s. The mix with other genres at that time doesn't appeal to everyone. But the mix is the only chance of survival because it opens up new target groups. Metal energy is not only compatible with hard rock. In the case of Ad Infinitum, the circle is even complete. Hard rock has its roots in African-American music. Metal has distanced itself from this and Melissa is bringing African-American music into it in a new form. What Melissa is doing makes sense for her personally and stylistically. She is bringing metal back to its roots. Unfortunately, I don't like African-American music, which is why she loses me there. But her decision is the right one.

Why do SO many bands i really enjoy change further and further into becoming a "pop" atrist. I know why. but i still don't think its the right move. Whithin Temptation, Unleash the Archers is beginning to, and now these guys. Whether its themselves or the record labels.......i wont support what i dont enjoy/ SAD

Too much western influence, this isn't metal, it's american dance music and my opinion is NO, we're on the dark side of the moon when our bands play different tunes
@orlathemming86894 ай бұрын
For me that looks like a money grab. I'm far from being a metal purist. But you could play this on the Eurovision Song Contest 😂 This does not catch me, it's more the opposite, I really dislike it. But let's see where this goes. If she sells it, she's right. But on the other hand, Rhianna also sells and I don't like it. RnB plus metal can work, but this sadly not. Anyway, the world would be boring, if we all have the same taste.
@adrianthessenvitz93694 ай бұрын
You're free to dislike our song, totally fine. We also knew it would be a risk. But I need to correct you in one point: If we were just doing this for money, we would've kept the plague masks and stick with the concept of the first album. That's what sells best. But we wanted to do something that feels true to us. That's all, we want to perform in the most authentic way with music that we truly like - and not some cringey gimmick stuff (that many metal bands do, just for sellout). But many metalheads are just to blind too see that 😅
@stephanschoneberg34534 ай бұрын
@@adrianthessenvitz9369 But you have to admit that it IS very different from Chapter 1 - I won't say I dislike it. It is just different. Of course every musician, band has to try this and that out. I was thinking the first three albums may came to quickly one after another. I felt (don't get it personally it isn't meant to be so) a little bit bored. I was expecting (well, maybe this word is to strong - let's say I thought it could be ...) a little bit more variability - maybe longer songs ... letting the music evolve in a longer song then (mostly) around 3 minutes. Yes, I know ... that's somehow how it works today on various platforms ... maybe I stuck a bit to much to the old longer metal and rock anthems ... and I still think you can do exactly this ... But if it goes to much into pop-direction you may lost your (metal) base but maybe found some new ones ... Regarding this "mask-thing" ... ah well, playing with something like this must be a real pain. It was - however - a nice "gimmick" but not bearable for live-acts ... and therefore needed to fall. And another thing - musicians need to be shown ...

@@adrianthessenvitz9369 first, thanks for your fast reply. I wrote that it looks like, doesn't have to be in real, as you just stated yourself, it isn't. But in any way, it's absolutely ok, just not down my alley, that why I personally dislike it. But let me explain, songs, even Melissas own one, and also the one you did as a band have radio length and have that pop/RnB vibe that sure is easier to spread to a wider crowd. That's why it looked for me, as if it is mainly made to make more money. But still, it's your choice, doesn't mean I dislike the band in a personal way, just the way the music goes right now. Mabye future songs will be something more for my taste. If not, all good. We Germans tend to be a bit direct, so please, this is not ment to be rude. 😊
