I usually incorporate a small swivel below the Olivette .. I just found it stops line twist .. particularly on rivers 👍

I dont usually float fish, but I quite fancy giving this a go, as the weather is cooling off.

Can this be used on still waters?

Yes it can, you can either fish the bait just laying on the bottom or off the bottom.

How is this rig ment to be fished? With the Olivette hanging under the float, or on the bottom?

Would u fish this just off bottom or over depth?
@AnglingDirectTV Жыл бұрын
Can be used either way. A lob worm laying on the worm is a great tactic, or a little free roaming live bait off the bottom 👌

Would this rig be ok to use on a lake for perch ?
@AnglingDirectTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi OD, yes I would be fine on a lake. You can either fish it static with the bait on the bottom or slightly shallower and let the wind drift it across the lake,

Fishing for perch look for around 4 or 5ft of clear water,early spring for Big perch.

Im sorry for my little dumdum , but how does that float supposed to go up? if that tube is holding it in the place it doesen't move or what? Im fishing mainly in a lake where the depths are usually 4-8m depth, so im really interested how this tubing system works? Does it just slide up where the float supposed to stop when the lead hits the ground or what? Always worked with little cotton material stoppers, since I have to set the depth on 4-5m, never have i actually been able to use the little rubber stoppers because they eventually hit the O shape line leaders on the rod and it doesen't cast well, so cotton stoppers and low profile and you're able to cast the rod like 25-35m no problem with 10g lead

The float is held in place with the float rubbers. You set the float to be fixed at the required depth. The float can easily be moved up and down the line under tension, but will hold in place while fishing. Hope this makes sense 😊

Is this a paternoster rig ?
@AnglingDirectTV2 жыл бұрын
Hello Ry, this isn't a paternoster. A paternoster would normally have a weight at the bottom of the rig with the hook length suspended above it.

What is the reason/benefit of having the Olivette as opposed to shirt buttoning shot or even bulk shot?

Hishaam Adam they won’t damage the line and easily changeable for different sizes.

with this rig does the Olivette anchor the rig to the bottom. wont the perch feel resistance from the weight when he picks ups the bait?
@AnglingDirectTV4 жыл бұрын
Depending on the depth you set the float, the olivette should be suspended off the bottom. Making this float rig set-up ideal for trotting on slow flowing rivers and streams. Hope that helps.
