I’m talking about the people on TikTok that do story times, then try to remember bits and pieces of the story (an event that probably occurred years ago) and say things like “sorry guys my Autism…”. It was an interesting video which i really enjoyed watching. Early marriage versus late marriage isn't something that should be left behind in 2024 . Your opinions are valid but you also have to recognise the fact that you may be speaking from a place of privilege. The statistics are there, people who marry later in life in their middle 20's, late 20's or 30's might still end up with terrible men but they handle it better. Some are financially stable that they can easily walk out of the marriage, experience will also make a woman know when she is being abused even when she is not been hit. Age isn't just a number, it comes with exposure and life experience. My 19 or 20 years old self is definitely not smarter or wiser than my late 30's self. I definitely make better decisions now. At my age(30's) as a mother, wife and entrepreneur, i know how stressful motherhood alone can be, i cannot imagine my daughter juggling all that at 19 or even early 20's. Women seem to debate on early marriage versus late marriage more because it affects them more. How many men are getting married at the age of 19 or even 25? How many men are saddled with the responsibility of sleepless nights due to parenthood at 19 or even early 20's. How many 19 -20 yrs old have a stable source of income. Like you said they are your opinions and you definitely have a right to them but akwa ifuru this marriage talk, it isn't going away any time soon until God willing, young girls come to realise that there is more to life in their early years than marriage.
