We were just north of you at Point Au Roche State Park. It was unbelievable. It was worth all the traffic on I-87 heading home. No picture or video can capture what you see with your own eyes. The disc of the moon was the blackest shade I will ever see. Totally devoid of light.

I agree about the traffic. Took us 1.5 hours to get from Glens Falls to Plattsburgh that morning...that same drive back took five hours. Was worth the nine hour drive home to New Jersey for that 3.5 minutes of totality.

There as well, utterly astounding! I was shocked by totality!

20 years for this lol Humans are so bizarre

Humans are bizarre. Some humans troll KZbin like a cry baby instead of going out and doing something with their family. Granted those people probably don’t have anyone that likes them, hence why they troll other people having a good time.

You're the bizarre one, belittling a clearly impactful and profound phenomenon through your lack of understanding and ignorance of it's complexity, rarity, of OUR perspective and position in the universe, etc. The passage of time over the course of your life becomes all too clear when you realize an event you've been planning on for decades has finally come to pass. These are incredible worthwhile things to pursue, not bizarre, grow up. And what exactly do you think people do for those 20 years? Sit there preparing the entire time lol? It's a weekend trip for most, SOME extreme eclipse fans travel the world for each eclipse, but that's extremely rare.
