Most of us will never be this passionate about anything in our lives- nothing we can fulfill anyways, and definitely not our jobs. This made me really happy to watch though, I wish I'd be able to see this exhibit!

o_O Oh don't get me wrong, I have several things that really make me enthused- but its either just hobbies or general interests, which as of now isn't anything I can do for a living or to the extent I'd like. Someday though, some day the hard work will pay off. :)

It's wonderful to see this women come alive while talking to somebody who "gets" what she's done. Think about your job at work. When you run into somebody outside your office/place of business you feel a instant connection with them if they are in the same line of work. You have a deeper level of understanding of that person than somebody who doesn't. That connection makes you open up more, and can be more rewarding that someone who doesn't share that connection. What a great piece, thanks from bringing it to us.

It's funny because when Deborah was talking about her making the Indy costume for the DVD Behind the Scenes of Raiders, she comes off as rather annoying. But the truth is that there wasn't enough time for you to get to know her, which I feel is what this video does so well. You get to know her and discover her passion for costume design, and I'm all the better for it.

Adam: "Harrison Ford is actually my size. Like 5'10"." Deborah: "...No. 6'2"..." Adam: "...oh...😔" Adam is so crushed by this. He obviously has some odd infatuation with Harrison Ford because he (proudly) mentions this same thing in another video (real Blade Runner pistol video). He says something like "Actually, Harrison and I are the EXACT SAME SIZE! Same jacket size, waist, hat, everything! Pretty neat!"
@Zak_Meents8 жыл бұрын
+Wash_Your_Fruits In the Blade Runner pistol video he says "Actually, We are almost the exact same size. Jacket. Hat, etc". He says it when the guy shows him where they shaved a piece of the grip off to better fit Harrison Fords hand. Adam grips it and says the above quote. He mentions it in a few other videos as well.
@gf46706 жыл бұрын
Well Ford was never 6'2". In his prime he just cracked 6', and everyone in Hollywood embellishes a good 2 inches (at least). But these days Ford is definitely in the 5'10" range, and Adam had good reason to say that - they met at some event a few years ago and you can see in photos that they are definitely the same height.

Adam...You really need a series that just focus's on the stories behind the things that make movies happen. The "we get in the head of the......." and pick your behind the scenes designer/craftsman/artist d'jor . The insight into why things are chosen in each detail really adds a color to the image of what we know and takes it to a whole new level. Thanks Adam.

Had no idea this video was posted so many years ago and this comment is 6 years old but YES this needs to be done by SOMEONE on KZbin! I could never get enough behind the scenes/making of documentaries when i was a kid growing up. Those were and still are my favorite things to research and find out about after watching a movie that I love. There needs to be so much more documentation of the making of the movies (especially before it becomes all digital with CGI)

Truly a magical experience. Anyone complaining has never felt a passion to create. Ironically, a lot of people are being critical of her age or the background noise, but as she says, films aren't a visual-based medium, but a story-based medium. Likewise, what makes this video shine are the stories behind every costume, behind every scratch and tear - the story of passion. If you are focusing on her age or the way she talks, then you aren't paying close enough attention.

So incredibly AWESOME!!! This has now become one of the greatest showings and stories of old and great current Hollywood. Thank You for sharing it with us. I just wish I would have fallen on this video when the display was actually open. I would have been there in a heart beat to see some of those, and because of their obscurity, the likelihood of all those going on display again is probably slim to none. It's so sad how artifacts of some of the greatest stories ever told can end up in the corner of a garage completely forgotten about for decades and decades, if not longer.

I went & saw this at the Natural history museum, I spent an hour maybe longer, time sort stopped for me in this place. All of the details, the treads, the little touches, fascinated me. It was gorgeous. This (apart from some of the depth of field issues with the camera work) was the best thing I have seen in ages. I wanted to hear more stories, more trivia, more. I couldn't afford the book at the time. Which was a shame because I read the whole thing, which was also amazing. If you live anywhere near LA, & you can get to this show it was incredible in London. If I had to pick a favourite I probably spent the most time looking at Marilyn Monroe's dress near the end, plus the suits from oceans 11... Those costumes, as a young adult, Clooney & Pitts suits in that series were immaculate. To date some of my favourite suits. Bottom line, great interview, this really needs to be marketed, catalogued & sold because it was a winner.
