If this was happening to the nfl they would undo every last rule change until those older ppl started watching again. THE PLAYERS destroyed the league. Silver is just a puppet yielding to the players desires. The minute that Lebron James, Duane Wade and Chris Bosh were allowed to construct their own team by colluding together the die was cast. Players should not be in charge of personnel decisions EVER. Funny thing is Cleveland capitulated to every demand that James had and he still left for Miami. When teams allowed him to be the decision maker and face of the league the viewership fell off a cliff The definition of a "generational talent" is that they grow the league not that they put the league in STEEP DECLINE. Anyone who gets away from their emotions and looks at it objectively will see James and players being given too much power sank this league NOT SILVER. He was installed to obey the players. They don't just huck up threes all game, they work and move to get good shots on every possession. They play a lot from the post with Jokic and their offense has so much movement. They also play a lot of high and low with Jokic and MPJ/AG. It isn't just 5 guys standing behind the three point line and then a flair screen for an open 3 like pretty much every other team. All of Adam Silver’s changes have sucked…save the 65 game rule that makes guys play at least 65 games. They flop around the court when barely touched - if at all, and travel almost every time down the court. None of the players care, they’re so rich it doesn’t matter if they win championship or not. The students were like 4-20 from the arc, but they still managed to stay close with us teachers because we shot poorly too and the students were in better shape and could get a lot of fast break layups. I realized that a team can still stay competitive if they can dominate the paint and rarely miss near the rim. I don't believe that teams need 3's to win. The NBA will never be as good as it was watching from the 70's through the 90's, it just can't be matched with the modern era of over-paid soft stars, non-strategy 3 point ball, no-calls, and Coaches that are more player-life coahces than actual coaches. At least we got to experience how great it was with the Jordan era, watching TNT/TBS/USA and just enjoying every minute.. lol imagine that, enjoying even 20 minutes solid of a modern NBA game.

Players like Jordan and Kobe wanted to win every game. This meant trying to play in every game. This meant trying to compete in every game. This meant trying to figure out each opponent every game to find a way to win. They didn't care about stats. They weren't trying to cheat their way to win. They wanted to beat you into submission. That was compelling basketball. I would much rather return to the 'dead ball' era than continue on this trend of mindless, stale, uncompetitive and repetitive basketball.

I miss the balance of the 90's and 00's. We had defense, inside scoring. Mid range. 3pt. Post game. Etc. Different style offenses. The last 3peat Bulls took between 17.1 and 11.7 3's per game in each season. That's a perfect amount for balance. Refs also called travels and offensive fouls.
@willwon89623 күн бұрын
indeed, every game is a dog fight pitting one coaching strategy against another, which makes very compelling and organic storylines. Today's storylines are manufactured narratives; .e.g., everything about Lebron James including his bum-ass son Bronny who has no business playing professional sports. He should be a professional video gamer.

I think there should be a limit on the number of three point shots,think this would lead to teams saving their three points shots until the end of the game which could make the three pointer exciting because it would mean more.

They would have to make the court bigger... there's no room on the baseline to push it back farther without extending the dimensions of the court... but it still might be worth it.... I think they probably will be forced to do this eventually because the analytics have proven the current offensive style to be most efficient. But then, making the court bigger also brings in a whole new set of challenges for a defense to overcome that didn't exist in the past.
@THEOne-zx3fe3 күн бұрын

I said it once and all say it again, if I was the NBA commissioner I’d put a limit on how many 3s teams are allowed to shoot. For example maybe a team can only shoot 20 3s per game, or maybe like 5 3s every quarter. This would not only make the shot more valuable, but now teams would be forced to play in the paint and take mid rangers. teams that play small ball would be punished, and big men shooting 3s would be punished aswell.

Basketball was a very big part of my life, during the late 80's-early 90's, the NBA was not to miss. Strategy, Rivalry and Honor were all that mattered. Today the NBA is something quite foreign to me, there is no life, no strategy, no honor. The players are a monster made by management and the system, and they are grossly overpaid to put in very little effort. This had to happen of course because from the ashes, a rebirth will come to life.

The Europeans and (Boston or crazy Mazzula) are making a mockery out of the league literally by being the only players and team that care. The Europeans are winning most of the awards, defensive player, MVP, championships or playing in them. Them giving a minimum effort is putting them atop of the whole NBA. Kyrie Irving is the most skilled American player, he plays second fiddle to a European player who isn’t even the best European player. Yes that’s partially Kyries fault, He had many of opportunities to prove he cares and wants to be a leader before then, he ruined them all, Luka saved his career. It’s a joke, how can you not care and expect people to care, that concept is brain dead.

KG's part in the beginning reminds me of something I said in a previous video of yours. The rules got loosened so much that scoring is so out of hand that we can have games where two dudes each score 35, two more score 20 and two more score 12 and that team still loses by 15 without overtime. In the same week we had the record for threes made in a game AND threes missed in a game.

The solution is simple. Make the players play the game as they should. Enforce the rules to ensure the integrity of the game. Make calls against stars the same way you do against support players. The skill separates, not the rules. Watching Lebron run over people is terrible basketball. Coaches need to bench players that don't give the effort. Entitled players are ruining the game. This is the laziest error of basketball ever presented. Watching millionaires be "too good" to care if they lose is a waste of time. That's why Bird, Magic, Jordan and others will always be better than any hack playing today. They cared. Had pride. Left it all on the court.

Skill has caught up to the game. Its the same in baseball, hockey. The skill levels of the greatest athletes of the 80s and 90s is now the norm. In basketball, its the 3 point shot and insane handles. In baseball, its pitchers that can throw 95mph + and in hockey, its overall skating, passing, speed and shooting ability. The NHL is a level playing field and the players have adapted, rules have changed, but in basketball, the 3 point shot has changed the game. So, how to change it? The NBA has its own rules regarding fouls. The entire game doesn't need to change, just change the arc or its shape or get rid of it entirely. I think changing the hoop diameter might be an option.
@BiggieTrismegistus3 күн бұрын
Handles aren't "insane". They only look insane because players are allowed to carry and travel.
