I only discovered this channel a few days ago, and I binged a few, especially the Japanese family. But this is simply better ping pong. Her foot work is superior, she moves with purpose, always has a plan (or two), and despite her quickness on the ball, she fluidly slows the pace down when advantageous. I've played a lot of bangers on the PB court who can't reliably transition from their habitual hard and heavy spin to an easy dink into a wide-open half-court. But Dora is so proactive with her footwork, she can channel both gears on demand. Very few of the other opponents on this channel could force Adam to respond in attack mode, and then keep enough pressure on him that he finally misses the table long. Adam's strong suit is keeping the ball in play, whether he has to crouch, lunge, dive, or spin. Dora managed to walk him off the back of the table (i.e. finally hitting too long) by punching a series of hard, low balls right up the gut with superior pace and precision. Some of the other opponents on this channel persist in hitting smashes that many of their other opponents can't consistently return, barely seeming to comprehend that Adam is almost in cruise control on this diet, like a snake swallowing an entire pig that seems far too big for the snake, but somehow it fits. Unlike many of the others, Dora instantly starts feeding him off-pace dribblers after his deep snake crouches, and Adam soon calculates that he's in for a world of thigh burn if he lets her continue to work him up and down. In the NHL of yore, there were goalies who used to open up a fake hole, and then snap the leather when the sniper targeted the fake hole. Some of the snipers just couldn't help themselves, and they would keep shooing in futility at these fake holes. But Dora would have had this figured by her third shift and soon the goalie wouldn't be confident whether she was going to snipe at the fake hole or not (especially with her fluid ability to lay off the pace at the last second)-leaving him uncertain and out of position-and then pretty soon he'd be shutting down the entire fake-hole ruse. That's what happened to Adam here. After bagging Capone, Eliot Ness decides to put the entire _Kill Bill_ Deadly Viper Assassination Squad out of business, and the snakes don't stand a chance.

Love the fact she's writing about the psychology of table tennis -- it's a much more a cerebral game than many give it credit for, and mental toughness is a key component to success.
@thomaslacornette12822 жыл бұрын
yes drive you crazy to lose so much points when sometimes you play so "good". But table tennis table has the weird effect of making you feel the best onfew points when you're actually bad on the long term. I losed so much game by being pissed off of my bad moves, too much nerves give this extra push to the ball that put it ouside the lines :-( . so ys Tennis table i think is very very mental sport.
@macmoss71702 жыл бұрын
Cerebral is the right word. Learning real TT is completely different from the "Ping Pong" we grew up with. So many strokes and strategies, and, for each, so many of the right responses. It is mind boggling to watch matches like this one!
