Gardening is hard but rewarding work. We took out 20 large trees in out yard last fall and have been trying to repair the ground with new grass this year. We have had record rainfall this year and every project has been done at least twice as all the seed has been washed away. Work, work, work. I built 3 12x4ft raised beds just to hide 12 of the tree stumps. So far, so good. However, we had to screen them off as the deer run straight up to the "troughs" in the evening to eat eat our flowers, eggplants, and tomatoes. We enjoy the deer but they can be a pain. Now the bunnies can't reach our plants, which is good. You can make some nice curved and round beds with the hollowblock and some rendering. Use your imagination and try to use a little feng shui to create your garden oasis. Enjoy! The casava cake looked delicious. Love to the family

Things I do for my own home that have stopped snakes getting in. A) Making sure no branches touch the garden wall (from the inside and outside), stopping them from climbing in (and from touching the house roof). B) blocking the gap under doors / gates. The floors should have a lip, so when the door closes, there is no space under to crawl through. Same with gates. Blocking the underside.

Jane.. When you cook cassava cake.. squeeze off the juice..then put coco milk.. shredded cocomeat and condense milk to the cassava and sugar not so much..in your baking pan caramelize some sugar before you put the cassava mixture and then bake or steam.

I would say my recommendation part of it are clean grass with a nice flower garden and half would be for all your fruits and vegetables. You can’t really stop the snakes because you live in the area where I believe is common to have any reptiles. But any how we are excited to see the next project . From California ❤

You guys got plenty of Cassavas. They can be stored in the freezer or turned into flour. Make sure to cook them well as they can be toxic. Jane's cake looks delish! Always a pleasure to see you guys. Thanks.

Good luck with the garden renovation, it's going to be lots of work but worth it in the end. Nobody ever really finishes a garden as they are constantly evolving with layouts to make way for mature trees and fruit bushes etc. Jane seems to panic every time Adam is holding anything other than a spoon! 😂

Good that you both decide to get rid of your plants to avoid rats and snakes around the area of your house. Over crowded plants sometimes is the main cause of having insects rats and snakes in the place. Why not hire a professional land scaper to make your garden more organize and lovely. Just a suggestion.😮😊

I always enjoy ur videos, my wife any myself also enjoy gardening here in Canada. I'm not meaning to be critical, more just our preference, but maybe a garden that is a little more organized/structured would be helpful - landscape design.

Do not plant bamboo inside your yard as snakes want to reside within that plants. Better yet, plant more oregano and tanglad around your house but within because snakes do not like the smells of these plants.

I ate a lot of kamoteng kahoy or cassava root growing up there. It was just boiled and we ate it like sugar cane. Root is toxic if improperly cooked.

any plans to extend your property, sir/madam? i'm concern with your mango tree... 5 to 10 years, it will cover most of your garden...
@AdamandJanesLifestyle
@AdamandJanesLifestyle 2 күн бұрын
No plans as the mango tree is never going to grow much bigger as it is marcotted and we can always trim the top. It's a small fraction of the size of our garden. Thanks for your concern but really its not a problem or ever will be 😊
