The most interesting thing is that the use of plugins was very minimalistic compared to other mixing tutorials i've seen on youtube that i almost felt he was hiding some sauce from us but then the mix speaks for itself.

@@soulsweet17 that's what professional means. I do mix prep: de click, clip gain, do (gentle) surgical eq, bounce things down to a clean session with less tracks and start crafting the sound... The "problems" have been fixed before I start worrying about the aesthetics of the mix.

Great video. Lately I've been taking this road more & more of being accurate and fine tuned with my plugins and my mixing decision. You did that well and the mix sounds great. Anyway... I'm here to ask a question 😃 I wonder of do you automate the tracks and busses? I see you have the pro tools console and if I have to guess those automations were not drawn by hand. If I'm right what's your technique of nailing them? And if I'm wrong how did you draw all this fine automations by hand (?) and still had any perspective of what you want the volume to actually be... I'm asking cus I just mixing a whole band show and had very big problems with those automations... Everytime I print the mix I noticed something else jumping out. I don't have faders but considering to buy if it will help with that intuitive access to volume control. But I heard people do it by hand usually... I studied music production and met someone with automaton like yours and asked him how he did it and he said all by hand and as you understand me trying it wasn't so succuss full... Would love a good tip of how to nail those tiny automations to make everything sound coherent and cohesive through out the whole song with all it's dynamic parts. Now I know I post it on adams audio page so I the person who is the video can't see it can you do me a favor and give me his contact so I can ask him straight? If anyone read all this, thank you for the time 😅
