really enjoy watching your videos. appreciate your honesty and humility in your teaching style. Your ability speaks for it's self! Way too much negativity thrown at the traditional arts, especially on the internet. Nice to see the art alive and well demonstrated in your videos. ☺👍

@@adamchankungfu But I can't run far or too fast I would be winded out now I'll be forced to fight and tired . I would have to fight and save my energy being 6ft at 290 pds .I'm slowly getting up my stamina up but not fast to run away yet . I don't go looking for anything but fun and good time's .

You seem to teach a reaction form on wing Chun . Wherever the energy takes you as long as you benefit from the situation. You are quite good don't worry about haters.

this is what real wing chun is meant to be about. like you descrobed "wherever the energy takes you". somewhere along the way 'mainstream' wing chun lost this. it is meant to be alive and highly adaptive. most of what you see is 'dead'

For real, everyone wants to talk like they've been in fights or they are teachers themselves, but I don't see videos of them displaying their standpoints or evidence. It's been made clear that Adam does his homework and back his knowledge up ten fold.

Had my 3rd Wing Chun training today. I have seen my sifu's linage before, but decided today to look more into it than I've already done. My sifu is from the Ip Man linage, but man... I should've stayed away from KZbin and only read from the site I used to find the linage. Such cancer -_- Glade to bump into a video with some positivity.

The bigger guy literally reacts how 99% of MMA guys do. They assume Wing Chun can't hit and can't do anything. On top of this their BJJ or Judo is often strength moves and slow. So their punches and reaction time is exactly how you saw this reaction here. Yet on KZbin....everyone's an expert and warrior lol

First time I have seen someone say grappling is slow. If you ever seen it slow, it's because two very experience grapplers are evenly matched. A good grappler would smash someone inexperienced quickly.

I am 6 feet tall. I always try to avoid fights. Trained in Wado Ryu karate, Wing Chun, and a few others. I am Autistic with Complex PTSD. Never like fighting in the street though I do prevail. Since having Complex PTSD I dont train nor rarely go out. Have been attack in from of my family by a huge white Dutch xenophobe who is a known criminal. Police told me I would be arrested if I made a statement of me being assaulted. 6 times I returned to give my report. 5 different excusses were given by 5 different police officer as to why I couldnt give my Statement. My doctor's report was never read. She said my wounds warrented the police investigate. The 6th police officer having dealt with people with Autism as well as Complex PTSD said I can best make a complaint to the Dutch Public Prosecutor. Did that and things were going great until the woman handling my case was removed and replaced. What should have took months as I was first informed was completed in a matter of days. The Dutch Public Prosecutor stated "The police did a good job." Police work with criminals. Get away if you can. If not use all you know to save your life. Even smashing balls etc. Your life is more important than any criminals

MMA is not a cure all go ahead and bring that fight onto the streets hope that person doesn't have a box cutter . There is no perfect fight . One error that's all it takes no matter what style someone takes . And everything is a surprise on the streets . This man is wickedly fast and he not well he was probably trained traditionally but you can go off beat with this as well . This man can put a hurting on a fighter . I think this guy is humble he just assured about himself and he should be . All the respect to you Sir . I wouldn't go out of my way to fight you being 6ft at 290 pds and I wouldn't expect that kind of speed out of him or anybody else even if I were to win at what cost ? Not one I'm willing to pay . Lol lol shit no !

That is what some people would call a disadvantage I respect you ... Sometimes going in right away, good. Sometimes probably not ... There's that too. Maybe because of the close range it's similar to BJJ and not ... Because ... You will either want to be to far or closer either or. We can be thankful that Wing Chun even though people see it as a limitation there's no such thing as a martial art that is a limitation you limited yourself to using Wing Chun but that's not what you actually do know martial art is actually a limitation. All it is is a new strength and a new way to think.

hey I've recently discovered your videos and really like what you're putting out here. Just a word of caution when dealing with the haters is to honestly just don't spend time on them. I've seen some martial arts channels here go from just representing their art to loud ranting in their videos, and having a colder, angry attitude as if the world's constantly out to get them. I just hope this doesn't become the fate of you guys!

Why do I feel like WC practitioners tend to try to look their fights like Ip Man, all looking Kung Fu and using literal straight traditional techniques. This guy is saying fax about cutting down the tree instead then using attacks, that’s what I feel like WC practitioners tend to do, lap sau or pak sau a tall guy when he blocks the chain punches Meanwhile Karate they don’t tend to do like that where they make their moves all fancy and like Kung fu movies( obviously) I think it’s because Kung Fu started to look all their fights all fancy techniques and perfect while other martial arts movies are less fancy (still fancy but not at as fancy giving a more realistic) techniques in fighting. I feel like that’s one reason why WC practitioners fail a lot. I saw a person say “Kung Fu in a fight doesn’t need to look like the Ip Man movies where techniques are so clean” and, no one can make fights clean, your not at a distance where you’re throwing clean jabs while other is blocking clean. It’s always moving around and messy and not throwing constant punches clean and rushing fast. I’m not saying Wing Chun is useless, I’m saying that this is probably why WC practitioners fail while in actual fights, and like Wong Shun Leung, Leung Jan, Yip Man, they change, adapt to their fighting style, their Wing Chun is modified and different and a more effective style than the traditional Wing Chun. A Wing Chun practitioner who has Wong Shun Leung’s Wing Chun sees a difference between WSL’s Wing Chun and Traditional Wing Chun, and he said “make your fighting style your own” Qi La La has WSL’s Wing Chun, that’s why he can make Wing Chun work against amateur (or above amateur) level and do WAYYYYYYY better than traditional Wing Chun practitioners when fighting amateurs (Adam also said that Leung Jan and WSL’s Wing Chun is different than traditional Wing Chun in one of his videos) So, the modified Wing Chun can make it passed amateur level if practiced and pressured tested like of Qi La La does it, meanwhile traditional, maybe not.

The hater comment was hilarious. :-)) Definitely works. What I see a lot of is a focus on shoulder and hip movement, and interception based on those cues. Yes? As far as dealing with mountain-sized men like Mike. I would do everything possible to avoid physical altercation. I'd only have to get clocked once, and I'd be seeing stars. So far, my fine art of defusing situations and the uncanny ability to run like a scalded cat has been quite useful...

Sifu Adam, your teaching style seems conversational and reminds me a lot of Guru Dan Inosanto. You ever work with him? Kung Fu interests me greatly, because a lot of styles under the Kung Fu family tree seem to emphasize hands, which would be better for me. I did ITF Taekwondo in high school, and while it did work against the bullies I had, I had to do it slightly differently than the founders intended; I never had the coordination or flexibility in my legs to do the high roundhouse kicks or complex spinning kicks in actual sparring. So when I dealt with bullies I would kick to the torso and use that as a bridge to close distance and then use the hand strikes from TKD. It seems that Wing Chun is one of the arts that would work well for my body. It's definitely on the short list of possible arts to pursue when this COVID-19 stuff slows down and I get a little more time and money to get back into regular classes at a martial arts studio! It's also interesting because trapping is radically different from how we blocked in ITF TKD. But like I said it seems like it would be more useful for my body type, little guy who doesn't have much coordination or flexibility in his legs. I definitely agree on the weak points. Early on in learning TKD, the second week, I accidentally discovered the solar plexus strike in sparring, and the instructor pointed out that I had discovered something that he would normally teach later, that it's a weak point that's one of the traditional targets in martial arts. It worked well against the bullies, most of whom were a lot larger than me....lol

In bjj when you go for an armbar you lock your elbows around the trapped arm, so that you can lean back and pull his arm with your body. Wing Chun uses this concept of incorporating body structure into attacks and grappling.... It'll catch on, again

That was just a normal human hand sign to say, "let's start" "C'mon" "Come over". Mike (the larger man) threw a wider punch during the moment. As Adam has stated, there was no pre-planning before they started the video. Fucking hell...they would have done a lot of preparation and that takes too much time and energy for everyone.
