Greetings Adam and always grateful for your super video right now I'm going as a mechanic with a friend to race at IBC PORTUGAL - BARCELOS. We will use your AD3 engine, we have run it with 25% fuel. But in Portugal 16% is mandatory. What do you recommend as base adjustments? Thanks a lot.

Should I adjust the opening of the throttle servo to the size of the Venturi? Here in Spain everyone always opens the carburetor to the maximum regardless of the Venturi.

No, the stock shimming is fine for 25% - 30% fuel.

Is it normal to have two stage idling with the ad3 ? Cant really avoid it... any suggestion how to fix it ?

It's not a big concern as long as your don't notice it on track, but it's not normal as long as the lsn is leaned out enough and the idle gap is low.

Hi Adam, I have this engine and I noticed that the it seems a little rich on high speed with the tuning that you recommended. But i use Energy Fuel 16% because EU laws, so is it possible that the fuel forces me to lean the engine? The engine runs well with 1.7-1.8 mm from flush. It has 2 gallons.

Yes, it's fine to be leaner especially with the lower nitro %.

Hi Adam which pipe combo do you recommend to run with this motor @ revelation raceway? I bought the AD3 combo and it has crazy power especially down low and mid. I want a pipe combo with more linear power. Also, revelation raceway is pretty damn loose track. Thank you

If you need it to be a little smoother I would go with the TB03/75mm. www.thedrakeracing.com

Will idle gap be the same with 16% EU fuel?

I would still start at .5mm but it may need to be slightly higher with the lower nitro content.

Thats been a big ?????? For us mr drake. We get a nitro engine break it in put a good decent tune. Back off on the idle screw a little here and there. People say dont try and get the lowest idle around. It drives me crazy sometimes

With these settings, particularly the low side, are you tuning to a double idle? Do you do the 30s idle then WOT test to check for loading up? I know our ad3 came from ebis with a rich low end and heavy loading up double idle, just wondering what your preference is.

RTR engines suck on carb tuning......i have a hobao macstar 28 that cant carry a tune in a bucket😅😅😅😅😅😅 sorry dude i had to vent a lil bit😊
