Trying to keep a long story short but I need a new carb for my mach 2 .21 . We cleaned it out but noticed a few things that could be problematic were just a bit ignorant when it comes these engines and carbs still. Would it be smart to go buy a protek 21j? Is it okay to go to a 3 needle carb on a engine that came with a 2 needle? Would love to have something that responds to the needles at least and will hold tune. I also want to go on record here that I took that 170 dollar engine and got 2nd in the sportsman A main at ocotoberfest here in az at the nitro compound. Everyone else had fancy reds or protek motors. Felt good but ours could still run alot better and were positive the carb is our issue.

I have the Flashpoint and Samurai engines and was wondering about temperatures. After warming them up and starting at 180 to 200 degrees, what is optimal running temp during say a 15 or 30 minute main? What is a safe temp and what is too lean?
