Thanks Adam. Shifting the FPS setting (@ 32 FPS) to the Nvidia P3D profile (and doing the other changes you suggest) and going to Unlimited FPS in the sim has done two things: enabled me to set LOD radius to ULTRA, which has resolved a massive "bluries" problem; and given me an incredibly smooth performance, with a three screen set-up at 7880x 1440x32 (incl bezzel correction). I'm getting a steady 29-31 FPS, the CPU (affinity mapped to use 7 cores for P3D) now runs at 75 to 80% useage, and the GPU at 50%. It is a dedicated PC driving just the visuals for a Jetmax 738 SSTD, using an over-clocked i7 and a 2080 TI card, with 32 GB of RAM, but it's still such an improvement in performance. As its primarily for high-level flying I did try reducing the LOD radius but this massively inhibited the generation of terrain so I went to LOD radius ULTRA which solved the problem, without reducing the performance in any way. However, Dynamic Texture Streaming does appear to smoothly reduce terrain texture detail with range very nicely. Rgds Chris

Thanks! I still get low FPS on approach in the NGXu on average with other planes i can get steady 45 FPS but the NGXu varies from 33-19, dips down on approach. Any suggestions? I only use the captains displays aswell. Thanks!

as it says in the video, the fps is determined by the hardware and the only way you can achieve a higher fps rate is too lower the load on the pc... reduce scenery settings until you achieve the fps you are looking for and then save it as a profile... I use a PMDG profile for my sim and use that profile whenever I fly a PMDG plane.... still achieve 40fps

yeah, there are a few that this has happened too, in my testing it seems to be Chaseplane with the latest updates..... try a flight without it and watch what happens.,.....

I do have a good system and CPU is an 8 core 16 threads that 5.2ghz. What slows me down more then anything that the card is a 6gb Vram. It's OC card and can get well over 1980mhz yet when flying the payware aircraft the Vram jrumps high. what's a good balance setting

yeah bottlenecks in a pc is a immersion killer in flight simulation, its getting the balance right between visuals and performance

Tried these settings out and so far I've been able to get rid of a lot of the stutters. The only thing is I do occasionally get them after takeoff or on final approach to the airport (Maybe the addon scenery loading in?) I have an i7-9700k and a GTX 1070. I'm wondering if there may be a slight bottleneck with this CPU/GPU setup but I am not 100% on that.

It could be the addon scenery or airports loading in.... it could also be background processes running on your pc.. watch my performance beast pc video on how to remove things you don’t need from the pc..

you said texture resolution can be set to 4k if your monitor supports it. but in this case, do you also have to set the sim screen resolution also to 4k?

Nope. I have mine set to 2440p to help with the work load. It’s displaying on a 4K screen tho so I still don’t need as much AA. If you run the screen Rez in the sim at 4K you are putting a higher load on the gpu. Lower it and you will still see 4K resolutions on your 4K display with textures at 4K. There will be a slight quality dip tho. Not much to be fair

I would turn off FXAA yes.. AA, I would set appropriately to what your texture resolution is.. there is a video coming out about AA and what to set in the next few weeks
