Adam the key to making this thing last is don't sit at redline for too long and don't dump the clutch. The thing that breaks the trans on these is that there really isn't anywhere the driveline can slip so when you dump the clutch you'll physically shear the gears. The thing that kills these motors is lack of oiling. At high rpm they get really hot and don't oil well. The motor makes most of its power lower in the Rev range anyways so keep it where it's happy. Also keep an eye on your oil level you'd be surprised how much they burn.

Yes.. stock wrx with stock td04L running 0.8bar of stock boost netting around 180-190whp... With sti camshaft, 3inch downpipe, tgv delete, external wastegate, running at 15-16psi (1.1bar) of boost, will gwt you around 240-250whp also with similar 230-240lbft of torque... Good enough to be reliable and fun street daily basher car...
